Speeding win2k boot up

I had win me on it was s**t they only good thing was it booted up really fast, i did a format last night and installed win2k pro with SP2 but it seems to boot up so slow and why of speeding it up ?

2k is a much bigger OS than ME. Me was fast on my computer but I hated it. Defrag the hard drive, check around for more tips on 2k.

just live with it... there's really no way to speed up the boot process

Disable unnecessary services, disable items in StartUp that are not needed, turn off the Boot Up timer, Defrag, Put the Paging file on the 2nd HD..

that's just a few, there's more tips you can do..

win2k has a long boot up process...it does..

Microsoft fixed this in XP. they stopped the start up from doing things that weren't required. i'm not saying its impossible for a better time, its just that xp is definately better.

you know, i've never been that person who needed to access my comp in 30 seconds from pushing the power button

heh... i've never really cared, the fact that it IS booting properly is enough for me ;)

go get XP..that has fast boot up :) hardly crashes either :p

lol if ur sure u wanna stick with 2k then u pretty much have to deal with the slow boot ups. But if u wanna go XP then u will see a fast boot time. And digi hardly ever crashes? Well thats true for all of us but yours is ALWAYS crashing LOL :p
