It's funny but it actually does.

Looks atrocious imo, stuff is just everywhere, and it completely lacks the simplicity and elegance of WP7. Also doubt it looks half as good in use - those WP7 tiles twinkle and 'delight', and they look damn impressive.

They "delight"?

I get it, you like MS and WP7, I am guessing you may even be on a dev team or such by how much of a zealot you are.

But saying a screen element "delights" is a bit too "It says so in the press release I just read" to be taken seriously.

Moreover, you've seen this customisation of Android in use to make such claims?

yeah but it actually does look a little messy in terms of typography choice and resolution... =/ WP7 looks much cleaner, comparing screenshots, which is, granted, the only comparison I can do right now but... I don't think the typography and resolution are much better in use...

But it's a nice try and a good idea. Only not perfectly executed. But as long as the user likes it and enjoys using his device... everything is nice and peaceful...

I can't be bothered at the moment, but you can be damn sure Android can twinkle and delight better than WP7 ;)

My EVO 4G arrived yesterday, and well it's awesome. I rooted with unrevoked right after I activated it.

ROM: Warm TwoPoint Two

Widgets (left to right): HTC messages widget, BattStatt, HTC Desire HD clock (actually flips), Default Android music, Power Control, News & Weather

Slight update!

I always love what you do with your Android. Really, great style, sense for typography, colors and proportions and overall just very stylish. If only everyone would make use of the Androids capability of total customization that well...

I placed 'delight' in single quotes exactly because it is the PR term for the animations effect, and their intended effect (see WP7 Design Days - Animation). PR term or not, it achieves its intended effect - when unlocked, the start screen does all kinds of little things that really do add up to a dynamic screen that does twinkle and delight. It's a bit of an airy term, but it's appropriate.

No themes, all mods are custom via DeFrost ROM and the circle battery kitchen (XDA devs forum).

The Launcher i LauncherPro and the icons are my own, the wallpaper is a black wood one I found: http://robbiekhan.co.uk/root/temp/Black%20Wood%20Plain%202.jpg

Still figuring out what tweaks work with iOS4.

That's the coolest and best looking iphone interface I've ever seen... It almost makes me wanna sell my HTC Desire and replace it with an iPhone 4, but that ain't gonna happen since I love Android and my HTC Desire to much :)

    • It use to be a nightmare, with LibreOffice supporting a newer draft ODF standard by default, and Microsoft Office supporting the older non-draft standard. Now that they both support the same version of ODF, they should be interoperable.
    • Brave Browser 1.91.171 by Razvan Serea Brave Browser is a lightning-fast, secure web browser that stands out from the competition with its focus on privacy, security, and speed. With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package. Brave Browser 1.91.171 changelog: General Fixed Cardano not being disabled on upgrade to Brave Origin. Upgraded Chromium to 149.0.7827.103. Origin Removed “Survey Panelist” setting from brave://settings/privacy. Fixed P3A and usage ping under brave://settings/privacy being displayed on first launch on Linux. • Hi. As the title suggests, I can't access the forum on my phone. I'm using Edge on Android and when I try to navigate to the forum I get a "we value your privacy" popup and none of the buttons are clickable. It effectively stonewalls me from reading any forum content.
    • Honestly you're not wrong about AdGuard. Neowin frequently has lifetime license discounts for them and that's how I got my cheap family license a few years ago to run it on all my devices.
