Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000

Recommended Posts

Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 is Microsoft 2005 hardware line up, designed by ergonomists the Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 is a flat keyboard with a 6 degree curve to give a natural finger strike other features include a compact and water resistant design, hot key, back, front and media control keys and no drivers required.

The keyboard comes in a beautiful designed red box and just by looking at the box you can tell how small keyboard is.

Removing the keyboard out of the box you notice how compact the keyboard is and also the curved buttons to allow natural finger strikes during typing. Microsoft no longer bundles a USB to PS2 adapter, notice that Microsoft have removed many of the unwanted hot keys as well as the secondary F functions such as copy, paste, send etc which was very annoying as these functions were on unless the F functions where disabled by pressing F-Lock key. The Num Lock, Scroll Lock & Caps Lock lights are located above the numeric pad.

You also get a Getting Started guide but you don?t get an installation CD as by standard the keyboard can be straight plugged in and working without the need any software/driver installation but to get the hot keys working you require Microsoft IntelliType Pro 5.3 which is a straight forward download and install.

Taking a closer look at the keys you notice that they are much larger in area and small in height to give almost a quiet typing experience and a 'laptop' feel. One more thing this keyboard was designed to be spill resistant, in case of a spill liquid would be drained out at the bottom how true this is I don't know as I'm not going to spoil this in the name of testin;);).

Compared to Microsoft's Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A.

This is a perfect, well priced keyboard and comfortable to be use, as part of the Microsoft Comfort range. If you have a flat keyboard user you may find that you need some time to get used to the curved keys but after that you are going to love it.SOURCE:b> Dan's Dome

I've used that and it's not that close to a laptop keyboard at all :s not like the DiNovo is, or others like that. This is far more like a regular keyboard.

Sorry to bring up a 5 day old thread, but are there any cheaper keyboards other than the DiNovo series that are small and feel like laptop keyboards?

DiNovo is the best, Logitech Ultra-X Keyboard, Microsoft Remote Keyboard for Windows XP Media Center Edition, SpeedLink Ultra SL-6465 Flat Metal Keyboard & SpeedLink Ultra SL-6466 Flat Illuminated Metal Keyboard seem to have a laptop feel keys check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Onl...eyboards_2.html

Short answer... yes. I wish i could give you some links, or names, but the brand doesn't come to mine. search newegg for the wired one, or go to somewhere like compusa  and look at their keyboards. I know they have some (at least at the one near me). Don't expect it to have any bells and whistles though... wired and w/o media keys.

Im quite happy with mine. Its nice and quiet for late at night and as far as getting used to goes...The first day I had it I spent a bit of time correcting errors due to the keys being unusualy wide in the centre. by the second day Im used to it and can go from this keyboard right onto the next without stopping.

Sorry to bring up a dead topic, but i recently bought 1 of these and my space bar seems to get stuck sometimes when pressed, anyone else have this problem, i'm very disapointed.

not me atleast :)

No problem either, contact Microsoft support.

I say its atleast worth a look first. Ive had the spacebar stick on me before because the metal hinge the keys like the enter key, shift, and space are on get either lodged in a misdirection or wont come up a certain way. Pop off the the space bar with a dull knife(on mine I dont think I could get a screwdriver in there) and make sure the hinge isnt stuck on anything. IF it is though and you pull up that spacebar your could take out a chunk of plastic from your keyboard so dont force it.

Personally I'd contact MS Hardware Support.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2. • Too soon, I'm still not over this death!
    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary to compete against AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update bug that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
