Microsoft Mouse by Starck

Recommended Posts

The design appealed to me and it was more important than functionality (extra buttons). Also, I loved how light it was compared to wireless mice with batteries. Unfortunately it didn't last very long

So basically, you bought a mouse designed by a guy who looks like this:

And you expected quality?

1) Everyone has different tastes and the way designer looks has nothing to do what he/she creates

2) Everything is made in China

Anyway, the point of this topic was not why I bought it, but why I threw it away three months after. I just wanted to share the photos and as you noticed I didn't blame Microsoft or Starck, I just presented the facts. No need for flames, grow up, kthx.

2) China has a high level of worksmanship in this day

That's what i call "cheapy profuct" , Put it on eBay and sell it like a unique item. Call it "The Cow Mouse" by MS.

lol @ that ^^

My Microsoft Optical Mouse 2.0 has the same problem, but only with the logo. I thought that I was the only one , but from what I am seeing, I'm very lucky for my mouse doesn't look like a cow yet. :p

The warranty should cover this kind of things...

Maybe Microsoft should work on software and let some other companies do something, without buying them

I have this mouse too. Mine have the same problem with you, but at the both left and right side of the mouse instead the whole thing. I brought this mouse because of its design and yes, just its design. I brought it in discount price :D Using it for almost a year.

Note: The box of this mouse is great, Im now filling it with a vaio logo paper and here a pic of it:

:D

The backside of my MX700 is starting to turn white, but I've put this mouse through some extremely heavy use for the past year.  I go through a MS keyboard a month, the plastic literally wears away and the handrest and spacebar.

Thats what my MX700 is looking like atm, it might be time for a new one. My Logitech keyboard is sill going strong after 2-3 of use :)

Hopping on the "Microsoft Hardware isn't ALL crap" boat:

I've had an IntelliMouse Optical since early 1999.

I've used it daily for several hours at a time.

It didn't die until June of 2005.

Postmortem: The Microsoft logo had long rubbed off of the back, and the plastic did have a slight aged-yellow tinge, but the sticker and feet on the underside were all still firmy attached.

Seven years of daily use? I hadn't even bothered counting until it actually started acting up. It was a hearty mouse and I was extremely pleased with it, so I went out and purchased a brand new one of the same model.

(Granted, it has a far better optical sensor now, but that's a GOOD thing.)
