Finding the CAL License Code

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to install my new User CAL's I just purchased, and it's telling me to enter the License Code in the Terminal Services License Manager. Where the heck is the License Code on the (what I am assuming would be) Retail Pak that I bought from Dell? It's not on the License Agreement paper which was the only thing in this.

Someone please help! I have searched this forum and Google but found nothing...I'm lost.

For me, when you order the extra licenses, Microsoft emails you from their licensing services.

You have to take that and login to their eopen licensing site to activate those licenses. Upon doing so will give you the activation code you are seeking.

Did you buy extra CALS at the time of buying the server from Dell?

if not then you dont have any CALs to add to the built in 5 thats in W2k or W2k3 server.

W2k3

To add more you require the electronic CALS purchased from Either a Reseller or from MS directly. You will then be emailed the purchased CALS which after inclusion will require activating over the web.

W2k

they arrive on floppy disk

It is a custom built server (just a PC that I built and slapped 2k3 onto), but the reseller for the CAL's was Dell. I haven't received any email from them with the CALs, I got a package from them with a sheet of paper which tells me nothing.

Wow...you're really off. Not even the same realm there buddy! Heh.

You need to contact Dell if you haven't recieved an email regarding the EOpen license web site. Also, check your spam filters.
