Quake 4 Multiplayer not working :(

Hey guys,

I was so excited about Quake 4. I liked the single player very much. But I cant get the multiplayer to work.

When i click on Browse Servers .. it doesnt show any servers.

Can someone help?

I am on high-speed broadband. I tried turning off the firewall, but no luck.

Help would be appreciated.

Is it a legal version?

Check activision support for the ports you need to open on your firewall ...

I dont have quake, but I've noticed that some games will default browse "Local" games. I then have to tell it to browse "internet" games. You may want to check that, just in case.

I even tried completely disabling the firewall and yes, i opened port 28004 on my firewall .. still not working.

my multiplayer is dodgy at the moment, anyone else got this working

if not then maybe they wont turn the servers on untill tomorrow when the game is offically released

Well genius, most illegal copies don't function well with multiplayer. So if its illegal, I doubt he'll be able to use multiplayer.

The game is officially released already, it's been out in the States for a couple of days (legit) and there are plenty of servers for multiplayer.

Okay "genius", that doesn't make all that sense to me. I guess you're the one to ask about functionality with illegal multiplayer games.

If you were talking about Internet gaming, I completely agree but ordinary TCP/IP gaming.. either it works or not (except for those rips comming right of someones ass).

Same here, but I assumed it was the Uni network blocking the ports.

Can some one please post some IP's of a few servers online, so I can try and see if I can connect to any?

well my offical copy just turned up, so i uninstalled the internet copy and reinstalled with my own dvd disk and code and volla it picked it up first time.... well over 690 servers!!

EDIT: ive added you onto my MSN messenger list, as when your on i will set up a dedicated server for you to join
