I think the original Luna theme is a fine theme but not very ergonomical for professional work. So I started changing the colors and some other elements and I think now it's much smoother. More changes will follow! ============================= >>> last updated 24.09.2002: ============================= Screenshot Download ============================= Here are the current changes: ============================= new with last update: - small corrections and enhancements previous changes: - small changes in StartPanel (white places bar) - MenuHighlight color changed - now all windows menus (including context menus on desktop!)have OfficeXP like menu highlight! - even most 3rd party programs will now have OfficeXP like menu highlight! - new StartButton (I'm not sure if it's good!?) - some other small enhancements (again size and speed) - OfficeXP like ToolbarButtons - OfficeXP like PlacesBarButtons - some other small enhancements - size of the theme gets smaller and smaller every release (and therefore also faster!) it's currently only 1/4 (!) of the original size - OfficeXP like All programs/Startmenu - OfficeXP like TaskBandGroup menu - flat TaskBarButtons - changed the colors of caption bars and frame borders - changed the colors of task bar - changed the colors of buttons and other gui elements - flat blue start button - changed window and toolbar backgrounds - changed size and color of start-menu whats planned: - other SysTray <-- any ideas?? - rework of StartPanel - matching shellstyle.dll <-- really need help there (currently using the shellstyle.dll from the original Luna/Silver theme - is better than nothing ;-) - matching logon screen - matching WinAmp skin <-- how do I make this? - SilverErgo theme for LunaII I'm open for ALL suggestions to make this theme as user friendly as possible. Irrespective of what you might think of it, MS Invest alot of $$ into user interface and they wouldnt have shipped XP with Luna if people didnt like it. Perosnally I like some of the mods people have made to Luna they give it a nice edge, and if not for the light light blue captions of this one, I would greatly like this one too. I think they are very eye-friendly! Recolored Luna flames? Huh.... should I upload this theme or not?? Once again - these are just the first steps with this rip - if people like it, I will upload - if not, it's also okay - I started this theme mainly for my own. Thanks for your response! Well I like the Luna look. I've tried or at least checked out pretty much every theme on the Internet for XP, and have kept none for more than a few minutes. Some have gotten my hopes up, but once I try them, I always find to many things wrong. I wish there were more Luna copies cuz I certainly haven't seen many, and figure if all they were is changed colors, that at least the sizes would be right. One thing I really hate, is when I gotta resize my windows after going back to a default style cuz a theme changed the window sizes cuz they weren't right. You can simply use the patched uxtheme.dll without StyleXP. Download this file here: http://www.tgtsoft.com/downloads/uxthemepatcher.zip In the zip there is also an explanation how to use this file.
