Kameo: SDTV vs HDTV comparison picture

Recommended Posts

Let me clear this up...

You guys look at movies and see sharp detail. Those movies are compressed crap comparred to the film source.

So you think the SD tv is capable of sharper images IT IS

But your missing the point Video game dont have a sharper source they are picture as what the system makes them out to be.

For the xbox to render HIGHER RESOLTION IMAGES it needs the HDTV equipment for the xbox to kick in the higher resolution.

Just like how your moniter from 1992 at your home cant do 1600x1200

thats all people you know TV's are set reslution its a higher upgrade same for computer moniters

so if you ever seen the detail jump in YOUR pc games from having a new coputer and new moniter and GFX card you know the difference when games went from

800x600 to 1280x1024 or 1280 x 720

its that drastic STOP if already its the same rules as a PC if you dont got the equipment you dont play like the rest, i never heard any body bitch about hey i cant play this game cause i dont have a good enough moniter, if you dont you tuck you tails between your legs.

yes the world has more standard but here to the death of standard

its mandatory in USA by 2009

you will thank me later

Games I have seen so far on the x360 can get petter performance on today's pcs. But xbox 360 gives a great performance for the price you pay.

that is not entirely true at all in games sutch as PDZ and PGR3 they could be run ona moderan PC but very very tomed down in visuals and graphics. and you also need to understand that the Xbox 360 framerate is limted by TVs 60HZ now if TVs had no limtations to HZs then it would be possable we could see PDZ and PGR3 running at 180FPS or so i would bet but thats not happening now .

It's true PC's get the latest video cards but they don't use them the way they should. Did you know a PC never uses a video card at it's full optimization? I don't care if your PC is 4GHZ with 4GB of ram. You never use the cards full optimization. Consoles use the full spec including the extra goodness because they are 'entirely' devoted to pushing the graphics. They'll also need to work on 'next gen' AI for the PC as well before catching back up with these new consoles. The xbox only has a 64MB video embedded and take a look at Ninja Gaiden. The PS2 has only half of that and look how nice the graphics are on some games. Ninja Gaiden looks like it's running on 128+. It's amazing how a console can utilize the power of a GPU so small. Now imagine what a game can look like with 256MB video in the next consoles. It's easy to say graphics are more 'polished' on a console.

If you took the fastest computer in your house, installed a 64MB video card and Ninja Gaiden, hooked up the XBOX with it's already embedded 64mb video, and compared Ninja Gaiden 'with the same resolution and hardware specs' on both you would see what I'm talking about (without comparing your monitors resolution to your TV). If a PC has 64MB It's going to make the game look and run at 64MB or less. If the Console has 64MB It's going to push it allot harder... ALOT. It's going to double without the extra pipelines it's bigger neighbors have. Consoles are just never updated as often as a PC because it takes allot more time to put them out. Now with all these new resolutions for the PS3 and 360 you can bet they'll stay on level with he PC for a while. Resolution and screen suffered tremendously for the PS2 and XBOX. That?s all fixed now:):)

Remember this is all compared with the same system specs. So don't bring up that "wahah but PC an upgrade firmware/hardware".

Very true ::rofl:l:

The differance between 480P and 1080i are very noticable on my Sony 32" HDTV (CRT) I compared Kameo and was suprised at the differance. So much sharper / detailed / brighter and vibrant in 1080i. Its like seeing two differant TV's in one.

So far im very impressed with Xbox360 ,currently own Condemned / PGR3 / Perfect Dark and Kameo.

Xbox 1:

733mhz Intel proccer

64Megs 100mhz DDR shared system/video ram

GeForce 3/4Ti DX8.1  based graphics technolagy PS 1.3/1.4  233mhz  clock speed

Xbox360

3x Cores  @ 3.2ghz each

512 Megs  700mhz DDR shared video/ system ram

10Megs DDR Buffer ram

ATI  500mhz custume  Directx is equale to and exceeds what we can excpect  in Directx 10+

so anyways your telling me Xbox 1 cna do this quality

lol no kidding , Ive owned the original Xbox since launch and seriously it cant even come close to what Xbox 360 is capable of. Its way beyond a 20% improvement.

well over here we dont even get HD television channels, we have terrestrial (aerial) and digital cable which i think can do low end HD on very few channels and we are an advanced country compared to most (i am in the UK) so 80% of other countries (excluding USA/CAN) are going to be worse off with possibly just aerial in. The US and Canada are the only places that HD has really kicked off (i dont know about japan)

HDTV's therefore aren't a worthwhile purchase for the casual gamer and out of say 250 people i know, only three or so will know what HDTV is and only 1 would probably buy it.

I barely ever play games, i stick to a single game and just play that casually (like Halo 2) but I will be getting a HDTV for futureproofing anyway and getting the full out of X360 ;)

Dude Japan was the pioneer in HD technology. They've had it since 1993. However, they used analog HD instead of digital HD but they might have converted already, I'm not sure.

Yeah I gotta say im not much of a console man but the 360 does look impressive, even more so with the High Definition, I mean if you buy equipment you want it to utilise all it can, which obviously means taking advantage of the HD facilities. Fact is makes sense to me, I dont know about your other countries, but HDTVs seem to be reasonably priced in my estimation here in Aus anyway. Plus it will be nice to have a device which actually uses the HD features since HD Broadcasts in Australia are not too frequent hence rendering a High Definition set and or set-top box reasonably useless.

say that to me when your done playing quake for on the 360 :p

586850462

i dont plan to play Quake IV on the 360 and if you are makeing your cliam based on 1 single game then you should think agian your statement . how about you try and play some PDZ or PGR3 or codenamed criminal . or so and see what you think. and at anyrate most PC games that may get ported to Xbox 360 could run full blown graphics with full FSAA and AF enabled and at 60FPS with no FPs loss liek you may get on PC

these posts are so pointless. i am all for xbox but theres always gonna be people trashing it then jerking off when the ps3 comes out and throw fits when the xbox people trash it. just buy the console you want and enjoy, stop sitting in forums putting people or thier thoughts down because its not the same as you. its very childish and your not gonna change anyones mind. u can trash something a million times and its not gonna make us not buy it.

btw. the topic says Kameo: SDTV vs HDTV comparison picture. you all just got way off topic. and btw again, pcs can be built better one day but never for $300 - $500

Interesting, still not enough to make my buy another TV. I don't care, the Xbox360 with my "old" TV is just enough for me. I'm not that geeky and chocked full of money that I would buy new tv for a console :p

Maybe one day when I'm a millionaire, but not just today...

Here's a video someone made of SDTV footage in game, the quality of the vid gets a bit bad at the end but you can clearly see those supposed SDTV PGR3 shots a few pages back are BS, it looks stunning just not as crisp...I still want a HDTV though, not going to happen for a long while though lol.

When it all comes down to the wire, my computer will own this 360 3x over, thats where the "Next Gen" is..

586824257

unless your pc has architecture and technologies not yet available for pc's i think you may well be lying. still, i'm open to all comers, so please post your spec and we'll see. Still, even if it were true, you couldn't expect to get a consumer priced graphics card as powerful as the one in 360 for less than you buy the console. Add to that the rest of the power and it makes pretty good sense to me.

just look at a release game; cod2, and how it's better on the console than the pc and i think you have some indication. :D

that's a bad comparison picture! why do people keep taking shots of the game with their camera? don't they know that it doesn't represent the actual quality of the game? they are only make the xbox 360's visual quality look worst. the only correct way to compare quality is to hook it up to a computer or some other devices that can take a perfect snapshot off the actual graphical data stream. until then, these comparison photos are pointless.

tested a core x360 on a old Hitachi TV (early 90s tvs i guess) and I was impressed by the quality on such a TV. And also my friend bought the Premium and tested this baby on HDTV Plasma 42". You clearly see the difference, amazing ! A lot better but it's still very very good on a normal tv so I say good job MicroSoft/ATi.

BY the way Condemned rules !! One of the best games out there.

    • For a guy who claims to hate Farage and the ignorant, gullible, rightwing racist skinheads sponsored by Putin that his lies represent, you sure are quoting them time and time and time again, mate. I guess you're conveniently ignoring the fact that your country and commonwealth just happened to work much better when it was still part of the E.U.? Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
    • Do you live in the U.K? Do any of the people here that are against the UK leaving the E.U, live in the U.K? If not then why are you bothered? If you do live here then it is a different thing . Brexit was a good idea, should have done it years before, it was done badly, but the idea was good. You are saying the same thing as remainers do, oh we did what Putin wanted, we listened to the lies and Farage. I hate Farage and never believed most of what he said, certainly did not believe the £350m a week for the NHS. But we did pay a lot of money to the E.U and yes some of it came back, but what is the point of paying it out for only some of it to come back? Get out of the E.U, no money to them and in theory we can use the money to do things in the country. I said in theory, but our governments are a total and complete waste of space. No matter what colour rosette they wear. You and others say it was a mistake and yet the two main parties in the U.K are not looking at rejoining the EU, I wonder why that is? I was not tricked by anyone. Makes no odds now, we are out and have been for 10 years, what we need is a decent government to run the country. All they do is shout at each other like a load of kids and seems to do nothing and make this country more into a police and nanny state. Getting more like China all the time.

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
