Did I say anything about it being awful that its an msstyle? Not really... and if it could be interpreted that way it shouldn't be msstyles are cool.

I am just running WB5 here and I'd like to use its enhanced stuff to render this awesome style.

More memory useage, inablity to change color to anycoler you want

msstyles are better than windowblinds any day. I can just "feel" the difference using windowblinds, there is something wrong with almost every version i've ever tried and it's NOT as compatible as msstyles. I don't really care about 4 MB of memory usage or whatever it's totally tiny amount of memory... not like the difference between azureus and utorrent or anything. Oh, and uh... MSStyles are 100 percent free. Also, I'm not going to buy something that will be obsolete when vista comes out in 8 months.

Anyway, This style is AWESOME ! Way good job, and much appreciated.

Awesome theme. After a few months of XPMC, this is my main one. :)

My only issue: if you use the Group Applications feature in the taskbar like I do, the application group isn't highlighted when the application's selected. By which I mean:

This is how it should be:

This is how it is:

That aside, it's fantastic. :D

I absolutely love this skin. I was using KoL's for a while then noticed how this one incorperates the same design into the toolbar and taskbar and just fell in love instantly. The only thing thats bugs me is the way the tabs are made.

That blue bar = gawdy. D:

Thank you all for the kind comments :)

all those asking for the samurize script

Ive attached it here

Its not the exact one as the screenshot (you'll notice the time is not the same as tray clock... I deleted that One)

but its similar

You ll need samurize for it, in case you don't know

(didn't think anybody would want the script, its easy to make your own in samurize)

i cant see the plugin  where can i found this plugin

:o this is such a cool theme, im a completely impressed

just one problem i can find with it, would it be possible to fix the bug which affects the way files and folders are outlined when clicked on?

giggy4rx.jpg

why does it appear that there is dotted lines around the folders when you highlight them?

I would love if this issue could be fixed.

well thanks for a great theme

cheers! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everyone and happy new year

Im currently updating rvista to version 1.1

royalevista6ws.th.jpg

Ive fixed the tabs and made a change to the taskband button Im also looking through the post for more things that need fixing

So if u want u may give feedback on my changes

and I will include the wallpaper plus others and samurize scripts... also I will include a left shellstyle version

You wont find the thick taskbar version in the next release I have to delete that cause its the vista taskbar from vistaxp

I wont have time to do the caption buttons sadly that will have to wait for a future release

    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
    • That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.
