Another Xbox 360 Crashing

Recommended Posts

MS did not bring this baby out early at all. The market was ready for this, and MS knew it. They avoided their previous 'mistake' with the xbox.

As for these issues...I also had the blinking light crap, so I cleaned the wires and turned it vertically, instead of horizontally. Works fine now.

Only thing is that I cant connect to live...must be a lan cable problem (im hoping)

Think of how many systems are currently sold. I'm damn sure a large percentage of them aren't faulty, and I don't know where you get the percentages of people reporting problems from...

I agree with this one. It's kind of like airplane crashes. You always hear about a airliner crashing into the side of a mountain, but you never hear about the thousands of planes that make it safely to their destination. What we don't have is a forum topic where people are posting "my xbox360 works great", and the reason we don't have it is .......nobody wants to know that your 360 is working ok, all people are interested in is the bad news.

Thats why I never jump on purchasing a new product...until its been out a while and the price will drop....guess when you have no patience....you become our Beta Testers...LOL

guess M$ jump the gun too fast to release the console during the holiday season.

unfortunately these problems are unlikely to put people off - after all, MS will fix the hitches in manufacturing as time progresses.

even if i'll be a "beta tester", i will still get the ps3 on release. i just cant wait longer than i'm already having to :D

Spartan just wondering, what part of Microsoft do you work for? Looking at you profile is it MSN?

586853042

nope, I don't work for MSN (but I have a bunch of friends over there) and I can't tell you what division I work for...  ;)

God i hate whiners.  If you don't like Microsoft's stuff, don't use any of it and **** off.

WAAAA my Windows has updates!!!  WAAAAAA  How is Microsoft any different from any other company?!?!?!

Patches are inevitable.

I just find it funny because Xbox fans jumped Sony hardcore when the first release PS2's had problems.  Now though when it happens to the 360 they do a 180 and say " hey it happens to all first release consoles! "

586853811

Sorry, but isn't that true... it has happened to all consoles..

the sony fanboys would use the same legitimate statement.

I know what departement you told us. Just search somewhere within the forums.

...more heat problems

We received the following screenshots from gprime, an Xbox 360 owner.

Unlike the earlier reports his Xbox 360 is not crashing, but displays some very strange graphics. To fix he has to turn off the console and let it cool down for a bit ... so it looks like another heat problem (hot GPU/RAM?)

Here are some screenshots of COD2 messing up the graphics display during gameplay.

Xbox 360 crash fix found

It involves string

By Nick Farrell: Friday 25 November 2005, 07:52

A GAMER fed up with his new Xbox 360 crashing every 20 minutes has fixed the problem by raising the power supply off the ground with some string.

Dan, from Duluth, or 'goldeneyemaster' as he is known, told the game spot forum here that he thinks the main reason that the xBox 360 freezes is because the power supply overheats. The solution is to lift the power supply off the floor and allow the air to circulate better around it.

Another simple method involved getting a box with no cover and putting the power supply on the edges.

As a result, he was able to leave his machine on for a stonking seven hours without it freezing up.

Other gamers to the site report that the idea works for them too. Many of them note with relief that since it is the power supply that is clearly the problem, rather than the box itself, it should be fairly easy for Microsoft to replace. ?

you pay over $400 and you have to put up with this crap...its not worth it.

yeah right...i mean who would have thought you can't put an electronic device with fans in it on your carpet without it overheating.

you people are making such a huge deal about this for no reason. my xbox 360 has not overheaded at all. the power brick just happens to be slightly off the ground due to the massive amounts of various cables behind my tv. if moving the thing 1/2 an inch off the ground is so hard for you maybe you shouldn't be playing games. better yet you must not be smart enough to even be watching television.

all you people do is bitch constantly. just use common sense. it's normally the easiest fix for anything.

You buy a $100,000 Mercedes and have problems too... but you don't hear people saying its not worth buying that car

586856397

Faulty.

In the Mercedes case, the damage would come from wear and tear, not from a manufacturer defect. I'm sure if there was a manufacturing defect in number, in any car, there would be outrage.

In the X360 case, it is a manufacturing default (and it is expected), unless people put the plugs on carpets and stuff, and not from wear and tear over the years. They have every right to complain.

    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
