Top Ten Reasons To Wait For PS3

This forum is obviously pro-xbox. Has been this way for years. Just in denial if you ask me. Opinions will always be opinions, but the fact remains the sony holds the console title, and the percentages that state that they will ever be knocked off are slim to none.

PS3 will be something great to remember @ launch, just as the PSone & PS2 were.

VERY WELL SAID !!!!!

pft, I never really planned on buying the ps2. One, I hear it's going to be way expensive, and two I hear they are doing something to the games so they're ONLY playable on ONE playstation. I don't quite understand it, because than how would you rent video games, but I have no idea, just something I heard.

It will be an amazing system I'm sure, but I'm just going to get the REVO. In my opinion, the fact that the REVO can play all Nintendo games, is amazing.

That one console **** is bull****

Sony never said this

Hey man, I never said Sony did say it, I just said I had heard that. If it isn't true, than it isn't true, that's all you had to say. I never declared that Sony said that, and that it was 100% true, just that I had heard it.

you know nintendo owned it too and they got knocked off... so really your logic is kinda flawed...

#10 - I consider Halo 3 to be a killer app. Perfect Dark Zero comes real close. None of those other PS3 games entice me. See, my preferences are different than yours.

#9 - Does anyone here actually have dual 1080p TVs in here? Even then, pretty much no current 1080p TVs support 1920x1080 progressive sources through their inputs(component, hdmi).

#8 - Er, the 360 has USB as well. They can always make extra add ones whenever necessary. And I don't even have a PSP so that completely rules that out.

#7 - What? Pre-order? How is this a reason..?

#6 - Hm yeah that's what Xbox Live is for. Even then the 360 can support 7 players as well, just not all wireless. (4 wireless, 3 wired) Not much of a big reason.

#5 - *shrugs* Ive had no interest in the eye toy before, and I doubt I will in the future. Some may be interested, but Im not.

#4 - I still have my original Xbox so im set. Ive never owned a PS in my life so it doesnt matter to me. Even then, the 360 list of backward compatible games will constantly be updated to include more games via Live.

#3 - *shrug again* Ive never gotten into Japanese games. Just not my type. Here again, my personal prefs. against yours.

#2 - See above. Ive never gotten into the MGS series so its not really a killer app for me.

#1 - Ill wait and see how the HD-DVD and the Bluray war turns out.

I hope everyone sees the main point to my post. My needs are different than yours. My opinions are different than yours. My tastes and preferences are different than yours. If the PS3 fits your bill, by all means buy it and enjoy it. But if it doesnt, get the other systems. Why waste time pushing others to see that Item A > Item B?

Xbox360 got 720p upscaled to 1080*, nothing else. It can't run 1080* nativly.

And it doesnt got any killer app.

586848042[/snapback]

What makes you think PS3 is going to do 1080p natively ? XBOX360 minimum requirements are 720p. developers can make games at 1080i if desired.

Killer app ? hmmm sure sure

I also doubt 1080p dual screen support on PS3. Thats a massive rendering job even for Magical cell processor.

And how the hell having 7 controllers is advantage ? 7 part split screen ? :pinch: was this guy on crack or something ?

And IIRC this was posted sometime back here...so!

Denial? lol, the ones in denial are the PS/Rev fanboys who are *trying* to justify themselves that 360 isnt worth it. This article is one good example of it. I suppose they can print out it and stick it on their walls.

This article is very reminiscent of the Fox News (joke of an) article on the same lines. :D

Magic crystal balls are awesome! I didnt know they existed.

And the number 1 reason NOT to go with a PS3?

Sony's Rootkit.

Jumbo QF:cool:ol: (Y)(Y)

I'm waiting for all 3. I'm most likely getting ps3. I think all systems are going to be great. I might change my mind. I think PS3 online will be good enough for me, Xbox Live is cool because its a unifided service over seperate games. But I just don't play enough games to make it worth the purchase. What the developers provide for online is good enough for me.

Reasons why not to buy a PS3....

1. it's going to cost the price of your first born child due to the blu-ray drive.

2. it's made by sony.

3. the controller is the ugliest thing ever created

...etc.

yeah, no thanks. (and no, i don't have or plan on getting a x360 neither)

The whole thing about the PS3 supporting Dual 1080P is bull****. Rendering 1080P is hard enought to do all by itself but doing it twice, there is no way. Im sure that the PS3 can output in dual 1080P but and what kind of performance loss. Plus who the hell has 2 1080P tvs sitting right next to each other.

Edited by Chad

people keep saying "who the hell has a 1080p tv"...that's one reason why ps3 is next-gen, because it will support "next-gen" tvs.

just wait a couple of years, then there'll be 1080p (cos it's a hell of a lot better than 1080i). the ps3 will already support it so that's a great advantage.

and 305, of course this forum is pro-xbox, because this site is everything microsoft (save for the few MAC and linux posts...a very small proportion).

i was going to wait, but the list is pretty good. most of it anyway. the japanese games thing is crap imo, cos i just dont play jap games. but i agree that blu-ray is the no.1 reason.

Or you know it may be written to give people information that there are alternatives out there and people have a choice and that maybe they should hold off and wait for both systems to come out.

You do realize that are other consoles besides MS's?

Reason #1: The Blu-ray Player

Thats probly the only thing the PS3 has over the Xbox 360 but concidering Quake 4 installed on my pc is only 2.46 GB i think Dual Layer DVD's will be fine.. and if it ever did become a problem developers could always make it so you can swap disc like on resident evil for the gamecube..

It sounds like that article is wrote by a desprate fanboy to me  Both consoles are of similar spesfication, xbox 360 is out now (or soon depending where you live), europe probly wornt see the ps3 untill christmas 2006...

I would get a 360 now then if you want a ps3 save up again or sell or 360 if u dont like it.

    • Exactly. They won't go 100 because current gen consoles are simply too old for any groundbreaking graphics or gaming experience otherwise. They will go with standard (console) price 70 or go with 80 if they really want to go premium. Of course they will have more expensive options too with some useless cosmetics as always.

    • I would never install install this build before rtm process. only 3 months to go. never install on your daily devices. just wait 3 months.
