Top Ten Reasons To Wait For PS3

Recommended Posts

The only good game coming out for PS3 to me is MGS3. And I'd rather play as Sam Fisher anyday. Devil May Cry isn't my kind of game, and Killzone is going to be lame again. Sony knows how to make RPGs and racers not FPS's. It just has to do with the games you like. I think 360 will offer a more satisfying plethora of FPS games and a more satisfying online experience.

And that controller really really turns me off. It makes my fingers hurt just looking at it.

Last I checked Square Enix signed with xbox 360 now...and backed away from sony...its one of the biggest news featuring the console wars...yet this article states that square enix is still with sony and not with microsoft...somebody needs to do more research.

Square Enix is still working with Sony

And the number 1 reason NOT to go with a PS3?

Sony's Rootkit.

Oh please, move on and get over it, they realized they made a mistake and are taking appropriate measures. I'm sure they won't let that happen again since they're being sued by many. Aside from that, I perfer the PS3 over Xbox 360. The 360 seems like its just a gaming console, while the ps3 seems like it'll have more potential than just that, it'll be more.... wait and see :)

Or you know it may be written to give people information that there are alternatives out there and people have a choice and that maybe they should hold off and wait for both systems to come out.

You do realize that are other consoles besides MS's?

Oh really? So the article tells me and others about the existence of PS3 & Revolution. Thats brilliant! Its nothing but the people with their own agendas trying to defuse the hype around 360's launch.

No shock that the article falls flat on its face:

It sounds like that article is wrote by a desprate fanboy to me?:

reason 11# no online

jus cuz sony dont charge u to play online, dont mean it doesnt have online... it has a faster ethernet port than the 360 aswell... and they do plan on capitalising on a sony version of xbox live... so dont even bother fanboy

i think u'll find sony doesnt make those games, they r by other Japanese companies, and sony have yet to finalise the controller, but i do admit that one does look sore...

im getting my PS3 when im in japan next year along with the games that the west will never see because its to consumed by pathetic sports titles that EA will flood the market with!

USA =/= "the west" :)

The only good game coming out for PS3 to me is MGS3. And I'd rather play as Sam Fisher anyday. Devil May Cry isn't my kind of game, and Killzone is going to be lame again.

MGS3 was for PS2. Its out and the "subsidence" version of it is already announced (released?). Nobody cares if you don't like DMC, because I liked it, and so did (since they're making a third one) thousands if not millions of other gamers. Also, please tell me how you got your clairvoyance, because if I could tell if games are going to be good/not based on minute-long videos (especially since they are generally accepted as being pretty damn awesome, even if there's doubt as to whether or not they were realtime).

The Playstation 3 is the only console that really looks like the next generation to me. Microsoft announced a console and it quickly came out. It's also not long since the old XBOX, which was alive and kicking. Leaving the XBOX for another year/half-year wouldn't have hurt. Sony are taking the slower game, but are ensuring quality. Whereas Microsoft's game systems have been built from currently exisiting technology, at least Sony is being creative and innovative by making a completley new processor architecture, that will not only be used in the PS3, but by very demanding servers and HD televisions, if nothing else. The CELL also has driverless support for every other CELL device. Imagine hooking up your CELL-powered HD camcorder (:p) to your PS3, and having them instantly recognise each other and just work? OK, you're going to need software to use them, but at least there are no driver issues, and the CELL has been shown time and time again to be amazingly faster than currently-exisitng technology.

Also, you just know SONY can pull off a console like this - look what they did with the PS2! Innovative stuff coming left, right, and centre, with games as stunning (in visuals, depth of story, realism) as Metal Gear Solid 3, even though there were "superior" consoles out from a raw horse-power PoV, and many believed the console was pushed to its limits already, and it was dead. The difference between this case and the 360 vs PS3 is that the PS3 doesn't just accel in raw HP, but in the whole way it operates. The XBOX just added more Mhz, but didn't revolutionise. The PS3, however, is a revolution. That's how things make it big - by being innovative. Everyone knows it - its nothing new. Microsoft just can't do that. There are some things Microsoft just can't do right, and games are one of them (acutally, I think its the overboistrous attitude of the people they employ, but there you go). Look at J.Allard, and then look at Ken Kutaragi - two completley different kinds of people, only Ken is more like the type who just succeed. J.Allard went about saying the 360 is more powerful than the PS3 and their games will look better - with lots of things to the contrary, and talking about a console that doesn't even exist in plastic and silicon yet! He's the sort of "it just is... err.. ignore everyone else, and buy our stuff". Sony provide more. I can't really describe it, and I'm sure I'm going to get flamed by all the very contraversial things I've said here, but half of it I don't agree with. I'd like to revise it, but I know I can't do better to describe why Sony will just win. Like I said, you just know Sony can make something great out of this.

Hey man, I never said Sony did say it, I just said I had heard that. If it isn't true, than it isn't true, that's all you had to say. I never declared that Sony said that, and that it was 100% true, just that I had heard it.

I wasent attacking you, i was just that that was a load of crap ( the one console stuff )

I was technicely attacking the person who started that rumer

Way to go Microsoft Fanboys...(Y)

...I should also note I am not a MS fan boy...

hell I use a Mac and own a Sony MD....:/

but come one, you got to agree that post was weak...Blue Ray...fine, Connection and Expension...fine. But COME ON, a game listed down as a reason? You can still pre-order?!?!...

You got to agree that the author didn't put too much thought in making the article an unbiased and fully supported one and so can't we come to a conclusion that he/she must be some kind of Sony Fanboy to push out an article like that?...

I stand corrected...

Fact is... there are MANY people that will buy the PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4.

Just like many are buying the 360 and will buy the 360 for Halo 3.

Shaddap.

Ok seriously, I am an Xbox360 fan-boy and let me say this.

Truely truely, PS3 is the the most advanced game system out of all the new systems, it truely screams 'next-gen' with 1080P tv support which would be a standard in a couple of years due to regulation by U.S. Congress (By 2009 most people should have HD ruling...) anyways, so stop argueing people. The Xbox360 to me doesnt look so next-gen, I mean they should've used bluetooth too but they didnt, which would've made it better for responsiveness, etc.

Blu-Ray is also next-gen, most probably this is going to be the standard soon, because of its huge capability, and capacity, so why not buy the PS3?

I am personally buying an Xbox360 when the PS3 comes out which is when we will see some dropping prices and then months later I will save for a PS3 and buy it, and maybe revolution if its worth buying, mainly for the classic Nintendo games really

Go Xbox360!!

Let's think of History...

Nintendo has ruled from 1986 to 1996 when the PSX as outpassed the N64 right?

Now we are near 2006, does Sony will lose his pole position after 10 years?

(By the way, who want to play with 7 Boomrang? )

I don't care which is better, what ever is out right now ppl are gona get. And since now 360 is oout everyone wants that, plus some sony fanboy is gona buy a 360 no matter what.

all i'm looking forward on the ps3 is Tekken *pls god let it be online* and msg4*although it was pre rander stuff I still like it*

The article is about the PS3....

No shock that the article falls flat on its face:
Well it seems to have gotten a rise out of the Xbox360 people for some reason so it apparently did its job.

    • SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 hands on by Steven Parker I was offered the chance to test out the SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500, and full disclosure, they let me keep it regardless of my findings. Anyway, I jumped at the chance due to my long hours sitting at my desk, mousing around. Apologies for the knife cut across the top of the box; that was my doing, being a bit too heavy-handed with opening up the outer packaging. First up, what's in the box: SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 1x Type-C charging cable User Manual 1-Year Warranty (card) In short, everything you need to get started. According to the official Amazon listing, here are the key features: Full-Hand Air Compression: OS500 wraps your fingers, palm, and wrist with multi-chamber air compression for a complete hand relaxation experience. The extended massage chamber helps cover more of the hand and wrist area than standard palm-only hand massagers Palm Kneading with 6 Modes & 6 Intensities: Built-in palm kneading rollers add a hands-on massage feel, while 6 preset modes and 6 pressure levels let you choose the comfort level that fits your day—from gentle relaxation to a firmer full-hand massage 3 Heat Levels with Cooling Fan: Choose from 104°F, 113°F or 122°F warmth to suit different seasons and comfort preferences. The built-in cooling fan helps reduce stuffiness during heated sessions, keeping your hand feeling fresh and comfortable Easy Visual Display & Smart Timer: The digital image display clearly shows massage area, mode, intensity, heat level, and remaining time at a glance. Select 10, 15, or 20-minute sessions for quick office breaks, evening relaxation, or everyday hand care Rechargeable, Cordless & Comfortable: A 3000mAh battery supports over 90 minutes of full-function use on a full charge, with convenient USB-C charging. The soft inner lining, smooth ABS/PU finish, and premium black-gold design make OS500 ideal for home, office, or gifting With all that out of the way, here are my own findings. I gave it a try on both left and right hands, and as you can maybe see from the above YouTube Short, (sorry for the shaky video), my whole hand fits in, but my wrist barely enters the Hand Massager. I was able to push through a bit more with my fingertips extending out the other end to get a bit of massaging on the start of my wrist. Usage For some reason, there is a strap that is very difficult to fasten to my wrist with one hand. I am not sure what function it has, and it isn't mentioned in the user manual. The only thing I could find was in the product images that claimed "wrist precision". Unlike the Bob and Brad Hand Massager, this device does not massage the wrist anyway, even though a "wrist mode" is mentioned, which must be for smaller hands than I have, as it is mainly intended for the hand and fingers. In addition, for its steeper price, there are no disposable gloves provided in the box, which is a bit of an issue considering the internal cover (which appears to be elasticated nylon) cannot be removed for washing; so you are left with only one choice: always thoroughly wash your hands before using it. I can imagine this thing getting a bit grimy after a period of use, and that is a bit of a shame. With that said, the buttons on the device, from left to right, do the following: Heat button: 3-level heat control at 104°F, 113°F, or 122°F Mode button: Auto mode Circular mode Soothing mode Relax mode Palm and fingers mode Palm and wrist mode Intensity button: from (First-time users) 15Ka, 25Ka, 35Ka, 45Ka, 55Ka, 60Ka (Intensive relief) Knead button: on or off (6 pressure levels) Power button: Long-press to turn on or off Cooling button: turn on or off the cooling fan Also, in the product imagery, it states there are 36 "custom modes," but nowhere is it listed what these modes are. I can only imagine that they mean a combination of all of the above settings in different intensity levels. The device itself seems to rely on a single "kneading" mechanism located at the palm area of the hand, which spins when in use, and the other massage features are mainly utilized through the air sacs, increasing and decreasing at various levels on the hand and fingers. I am not sure it offered too much relief for someone who is typing and operating a mouse for hours at a time; further testing may be required. It does feel nice, though. Finally, you may be wondering how this fits into the scope of a tech website? Well, let me tell you something: sometimes I sit for up to 15 hours working on Neowin, and although I take breaks in between, it takes a toll on my body. I think in the immediate absence of a partner to apply relief, a good massager like this Hand Massager can shed the strains of the day in just a couple of 15-minute bursts. On the official website, this has an MSRP of $99.99, but luckily for our readers, it is selling at $10 off for just $89.99 right now on Amazon. SKG Hand Massager with Heat OS500 for $89.99 (with $10 off coupon), $99.99 MSRP For me, this gets a thumbs hands(?) down. However, it could be improved by making it so that the protective covering could be removed and thrown into the washing machine, or get yourself some disposable gloves to use with it.
