Question

im using mcafee2005 and im trying to install panda titanium 2006 on my computer cause ive heard many ppl say its good and i want to try it but it says that its incompatable with McAfee AV, so i uninstalled McAfee, and the install pop'd up again, but it still says that i have mcafee anti-virus installed, what components do i need to remove?

p.s.

Happened with my Kaspersky too. It doesn't play well with the McAfee Security Center.

I think for you to be able to install Panda, and any other AV for that matter, you need to get rid of the Security Center, which also means getting rid of the Firewall and AntiSpyware.

So you have two choices: Keep all your McAfee products, OR get rid of them all, install Panda, and get some free Firewall and AS product.

im just afraid of leaving my comp vunerable for 10 minutes, i think without my firewall all of a sudden everythings going to dowload stuff and crap and ill be defencless (i download alot of .... stuff)

whats the BEST free firewall? i want a personal firewall. preferable better than mcafee

If you want to be sure, you can disconnect from the internet while you are getting setup, but I'm pretty sure that your computer won't become infected in just a few minutes :p

A good personal firewall is Sygate, ZoneAlarm, or Outpost. The Windows XP firewall is fine too if you are behind a router.

Do you by any chance have a firewalled router?

wtf?

i uninstalled all of my mcafee stuff, but security center said "error occured during uninstall".

and i disable all mcafee things from start up, but panda still says that mcafee is installed, is there a way to bypass it? or to remove security center from the add/remove thing?!?!

After uninstalling all McAfee products, why not use a registry cleaner to get rid of the orphan registry entries?

RegSeeker has proven to be pretty good at cleaning out orphan entries (for me at least). I've also bought RegSupreme (not the more expensive Pro version) which seems to clean out the few things that RegSeeker (which btw, is free) missed.

Orphan registry entries are registry settings left behind by programs when they are uninstalled. Almost all program uninstallers never remove all registry entries. So, when the programs' files are removed, the registry entries still remain and point to non-existent files on the hard disk. The reason they should be removed is that they tend to take up lots of space, which may potentially slow down your registry access due to fragmentation.

It's safe to delete everything RegSeeker finds. If it inadvertently deletes something, it creates a backup which you can easily restore.

    • low latency mode is still bugged and causing bootup times slow to a crawl. To fix, you have to disable the feature with vivetool. Seems as though it's not rolled out to a lot of people yet since I've only been able to find only a handful of people that are having issues.
    • I would recommend the Nothing 2a. The battery life is awesome, 2 or 3 days without going into battery power mode. The only thing that I've been looking into recently is that it doesn't "support" Graphene OS. I'm pretty sure there is a way, I just need to do some more looking.
    • You'd have to show me an example of a listing that says Gen 1, usually i'd expect that to mean Snapdragon Gen 1 (a type of chipset, which the Pixels don't use). Pixel 7 - White - 128gb - Unlocked - 85%+ battery - Grade B+ - $159 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/398046617206 Pixel 7 - Obsidian - 128gb - Unlocked - 80%+ battery - Very Good - $157 with free delivery - https://www.ebay.com/itm/355617734563 Both look to be sold by companies with good feedback, dealing with refurbished phones and state the phones are unlocked with a clean IMEI. Obviously I can't vouch for either company though, but the listings look good in my opinion.
    • Because Chrome is doing it. And no one said anyone had to update immediately. That's silly. They could update every day for all I care as long as it's fast, and the next time the browser restarts, you're good. And the basic point is not to tee it up for bigger updates. As it is right now, all the windows I had open reopen anyway except inprivate.
    • Why? Does anybody actually want this? The constant need to close all browser sessions and wait for a new version to install, just so that there’s a integrated coupon manager feels like a waste of everyone’s time
