Hi guys. I have a 2003 windows file server. And lately it has gotten INCREDIBLY slow. I defragged the drives and still it is utterly slow. How slow? It takes 12 minutes to copy a 1.6 gig file from one partition to the next!!! This is driving me crazy because it used to be so fast and by no means should be this slow on a Sempron 2400 processor and 1 gig of ddr400 RAM. Can any1 help me figure out the reason why it got so slow? Is it because the hard drive no has onle 16 gigs left free out of 200? By why should that affect its speed so greatly especially if I defragged? And I have more than one drive with much more free space and it is still just as slow! Help!
