I'm looking to get a tattoo

I think its a good thing he posted here. Where else would you get constructive criticism and some help in this matter. Not only that if he asks Joe friend, Joe friend will probably tell him what he wants is cool . Well friends are not always the best people to for a full honest opinion.

They are right about it being your own idea, put your own touch into it and enjoy your art. (refrain from using ms paint)

I thought it was a good thing too.. until I read all of his responses... while his "direct question" doesnt get answered... some people who may have made the mistake of getting the regretful chinese translation tattoo are trying to give some advice(even though he did not ask for it).. they are just trying to help... screw this kid.. hope the tattoo artist puts "I'm Gay" in some language he doesnt know... that will be a great ice breaker.. I dont have any tattoos but i know that they are meant as a form of art and this kid is not ready to get one(IMO)

Arabic or Japanise

When I get mine (on my wrists) Im getting one word on each wrist.

They will be in english, but done in script so it gives it a little flair.

That was probably no help but

I think Japanese is pretty good.

i have a tribal design on my arm, old english lettering on my chest and a heartagram on my lower stomach so im not new to tattoos, but what i know for sure is to get what you want and only if your 100% certain. if you gotta come on a forum and ask advice then you really arent 100% sure. i would sit down, rethink long and hard without needing advice and decide on your own. just my opinion take it as you want.

I'd get some picture tattoo. If I do get a tattoo I'll go for a visual thing.

But if you want text, I imagine japanese would look nice. Or maybe tribal text?

Another thing to consider is the type of shading.

I would also suggest getting your first tattoo in a covered area within easy reach to take care of it. And get some more info on the artist/shop, ask for an album of the guys work. My ex and her sister both have uneven tattoos for the rest of their lives.

EXCELLENT posts all of which were very helpful. Thanks to all that actually provided some serious input.

I have a few tattoos spreading all over my body, I dont regret one of them.

Of course, I never came online asking tech forums what they think I should get.

#1 rule in deciding what tattoo you should get: Dont get anything trendy. No tribals, and no freaking asian characters.

Meaningless tatoos are cool. Especially when your 50 and your like wtf was i thinking?

Oh ya Arabic is good....

You think it's trendy in Japan and China to get tattoos of english words?

yeah, its great he posted here, wonderful. but he can't post this and lash out at everyone that gives him some criticism like a little kid.

These are the type of useless responses that make me mad. Honestly, I like humour and humourous responses but responding with stuff like "I hope he gets i'm gay" in some other language is retarded and you're retarded. Tattoos are not the most serious thing in the world, i don't really care if you think it's an art form that I am not mature enough to experience

P.S. screw you and you are gay LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO!!!!!

it makes you mad??... what about your dumb responses that we uncalled for... most of the replies here were trying to be helpful but you repsonded like a prick... what else do you expect..

i have two tattoos, one on my shoulder (a phoenix with its wings wrapped around the chinese symbol for, get this, phoenix) and one on my right calf (a tribal phoenix). both of my tattoos mean something to me personally after a very serious event that occured in my life almost 4 years ago. personally i think if you are going to get a tattoo in another language, make sure you research it to make sure you are getting what you think you are getting; and if you are going to get a tattoo make sure it means something to you, otherwise like some people said, you might wonder what the heck you were thinking years down the road.

I'm the guy who got the asian lettering and I can't figure out what the hell I was doing.

I wanted letters that meant something, but the phrase I wanted looked stupid. So I got 'Sacrifice' because it looked cool. When people ask what it means. I tell em "It means 'Shut the **** up"

Anyway, bottom line, I have to agree with everyone else in the world. If you don't speak the language, don't get it permanently etched into your skin. It's probably the stupidest thing you could do.

Not to mention, believe me... People laugh at you more than you'lll know when you don't really know whats on your body.

you can use arabic like my sig it's my name in arabic, u can use diferent fonts and some of'em are quite cool

Get a barcode like #47 behind your neck.

That'd be awesome.

Or you could settle with "Allah" in Arabic written form and get the beating of your life by Muslim gangs.

well, thanx for helping to clean the muslims fame, الله means god and it's a word, so it's depends on how you use it you can be beaten or not

Didn't mean to sound like a d*** but i'm really not concerned what tatoo artists think as it's really meant to be a joke (icebreaker).

P.S. getting a tattoo on the inside of your bottom lip must have felt good.

well i know my first post deserved that response but i just broke my wrist and typing with one hand sucks. wanted to keep it short.

Would you mind posting pics of those? I'm thinking of getting a phoenix tattoo, too.

if you dont speak speak it-- dont get it...

do it in english

I 100% agree with this.. I mean do pasty white dudes actually think it is cool that they have some strange Asian language on them saying who knows what? That is just stupid  Now the only way I would get it is if I got one saying "I do not speak (whatever language it is in)" :p that would be kinda funny...but yeah no language if you do not speak it ;) Also getting a tattoo just to get a tattoo is a bit nuts IMO, so think about it and make sure you get something that will always have the same meaning to you

I find it strange that anyone would ask for advice about a tattoo. Surely the whole point is that it is a personal thing and you should decide what you want yourself? If a language fascinates you then go for it but it should be what you want, not what some random person on the internet said. I've never understood the fascination with tattoos in another language - it's just far too trendy at the moment.

    • Rockstar gives last-gen GTA V players free upgrades tomorrow by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Rockstar is preparing to launch Grand Theft Auto VI later this year, but ahead of that, the company has revealed a new offer for some Grand Theft Auto V owners. It today announced that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version owners of the 2013-released title will soon be receiving a free upgrade to the current generation version. The studio released the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 version of Grand Theft Auto V back in 2022, bringing significant upgrades to the original console editions. This included 60 FPS gameplay at up to 4K resolution, as well as major upgrades to textures, draw distance, and audio. Faster load times, ray tracing elements, and HDR support were also added with it. While this new and enhanced version needed a new purchase of the game to jump in, now Rockstar has decided to make it a free upgrade, dropping the $40 price tag entirely on consoles. "Beginning tomorrow, those who own any PS4 version or the digital Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V will be able to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions at no additional cost, and experience the best versions of GTA V and GTA Online," said the company in an official blog post. The free upgrade offer will be released tomorrow, June 18, for all Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners of Grand Theft Auto V. Players who will be jumping in on the offer will want to check how to migrate their GTA Online profile from last-generation to current-generation consoles by heading over here. The offer lands ahead of The Kortz Center Heist hitting Grand Theft Auto Online, where players and crews will be tasked with stealing priceless international art from a prestigious gallery in Pacific Bluffs. It doesn't look like Rockstar plans to stop updating its previous game even with Grand Theft Auto VI being on the horizon. The latest title is slated to launch on November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

    • Rufus 4.15.2391 Beta by Razvan Serea Rufus is a small utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need! Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO (with honorable mention to WiNToBootic for managing to keep up). It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USBs from ISOs. A non-exhaustive list of Rufus supported ISOs is available here. It can be especially useful for cases where: you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.) you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility Rufus 4.15.2391 Beta changelog: Improve the guards for using the "silent" option Improve the ability to cancel during write retries Fix unrestricted XML entity expansion and integer overflow in ezxml parser (courtesy of @esadowski4) [GHSA-55r2-34wg-8mv9] Fix "silent" Windows installation failing at 75% in most cases [#2960] Fix a crash during boot when using UEFI:NTFS on Snapdragon X based ARM64 platforms [#2934] Fix the first WUE option always being checked by default [#2965] Fix an infinite loop when using Windows ISOs that contain multiple WIMs Fix "Enable runtime UEFI media validation" checkbox not always being properly enabled Other WUE improvements/fixes for OneDrive removal and username validation (with thanks to @christian8641) [#2984, #2991] Download: Rufus 4.15 Beta | 1.9 MB (Open Source) Links: Rufus Home Page | Project Page @GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 by Razvan Serea Media Player Classic - Home Cinema (MPC-HC) is a free and open-source video and audio player for Windows. MPC-HC is based on the original Guliverkli project (which is no longer maintained) and contains many additional features and bug fixes. As the continuation of the original Media Player Classic, MPC-HC isn’t flashy but it works with nearly any media format. MPC-HC uses DXVA technology to pass decoding operations to your modern video card, enhancing your viewing experience. And MPC-HC supports both physical and software DVDs with menus, chapter navigation, and subtitles. Overview of features A lot of people seem to be unaware of some of the awesome features that have been added to MPC-HC in the past years. Here is a list of useful options and features that everyone should know about: Dark interface Menu > View > Dark Theme When using dark theme it is also possible to change the height of the seekbar and size of the toolbar buttons. Options > Advanced Video preview on the seekbar Options > Tweaks > Show preview on seek bar Adjust playback speed Menu > Play > Playback rate The buttons in the player that control playback rate take a 2x step by default. This can be customized to smaller values (like 10%): Options > Playback > Speed step Adjusting playback speed works best with the internal audio renderer. This also has automatic pitch correction. Options > Playback > Output > Audio Renderer MPC-HC can remember playback position, so you can resume from that point later Options > Player > History You can quickly seek through a video with Ctrl + Mouse Scrollwheel. You can jump to next/previous file in a folder by pressing PageUp/PageDown. You can perform automatic actions at end of file. For example to go to next file or close player. Options > Playback > After Playback (permanent setting) Menu > Play > After Playback (for current file only) A-B repeat - You can loop a segment of a video. Press [ and ] to set start and stop markers. You can rotate/flip/mirror/stretch/zoom the video Menu > View > Pan&Scan This is also easily done with hotkeys (see below). There are lots of keyboard hotkeys and mouse actions to control the player. They can be customized as well. Options > Player > Keys Tip: there is a search box above the table. You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites You can stream videos directly from Youtube and many other video websites Put yt-dlp.exe or youtube-dl.exe in the MPC-HC installation folder. Then you can open website URLs in the player: Menu > File > Open File/URL You can even download those videos: Menu > File > Save a copy Tip: to be able to download in best quality with yt-dlp/youtube-dl, it is recommended to also put ffmpeg.exe in the MPC-HC folder. Several YDL configuration options are found here: Options > Advanced This includes an option to specify the location of the .exe in case you don't want to put it in MPC-HC folder. Play HDR video This requires using madVR or MPC Video Renderer. After installation these renderers can be selected here: Options > Playback > Output Ability to search for and download subtitles, either automatically or manually (press D): Options > Subtitles > Misc Besides all these (new) features, there have also been many bugfixes and internal improvements in the player in the past years that give better performance and stability. It also has updated internal codecs. Support was added for CUE sheets, WebVTT subtitles, etc. Media Player Classic - Home Cinema 2.7.3 changelog: Updated LAV Filters to version 0.82 Updated MPC Video Renderer to version 0.10.4.2550 Updated MPC Audio Renderer A few crash fixes, bug fixes and small improvements.
