[req] clearlooks 2.0 for windows xp

Recommended Posts

I've been messin around with Schmoove's original clearlooks port, and TBH, it would be very easy to change his port over to the new "cairo" look.

Check out my progress :p

great, im glad somebody is beggining to port it over, even if it isnt schmoove!

make the caption buttons wider!

after googling around for more screens of clearlooks 2.0 , i wish we could have animated loading bars on msstyles :(

I can handle conversion of the icons and make a complete set for iconpackager, i just need a tiny application that can batch covert SVG to PNG !

And i promise you a complete iconpackager release of tango's icons !

Anything to perfect that gorgeous look for windows !

If Ksaad finds an application to quickly batch-convert the icons, I'll make a shell patcher of 'em too if anyone's interested. My shell patchers aren't too popular around these parts... but they work. I hadn't bothered doing one for Tango yet since it'd pretty much be for myself alone, and I've been happy with just straight Gnoming.

How will this work ?, i mean... an installer ?

That means you only need the .ICO files, but assigning them will take some time. You know what i mean ?

We'll team up and make many editions of the same thing ! Same thing, Different flavours. Just like Linux :D

^ Right now, you pretty much just have to compile it from source, because it is a remake of the WHOLE clearlooks engine (Y).

They have some compiled Ubuntu packages here:

edit: I was referring to the GTK part of the theme, ksaad has pointed out the metacity part :D

    • Microsoft Edge comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and it's a great browser, so why not use it? Not everyone is trying to run away from Google, sometimes people just want convenience and less friction.

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.
