[req] clearlooks 2.0 for windows xp

Recommended Posts

How will this work ?, i mean... an installer ?

That means you only need the .ICO files, but assigning them will take some time. You know what i mean ?

We'll team up and make many editions of the same thing ! Same thing, Different flavours. Just like Linux :D

Yep, I wrote some batch scripts that glue together reshack scripts nice and easy and automate the swapping out of system files. I've got icons made for the calc, charmap, notepad, and the generic computer. The computer icon, of course, is the only one relevant to the IP theme. If you wanna split 'em up between the two of us, that's cool, I could help a bit... although we probably ought to split ourselves a thread for that... you won't get anything more out of me tonight, I'm heading to sleep.

The Clearlooks 2.0 port is awesome, of course, and will definitely find a home on my shell-hacking dev box :)

probably going to post something tomorrow afternoon. (U.S. Eastern time). It will be the Normal version, I will also be making a ompact version (taskbar & start menu) after the normal one is completed.

My port might be updated for later if necessary.

Also, can't wait to perfect the set.

wow, just wow - my thread sure picked up since yesterday!

nice work on the theme kevcart, it looks great now

nice job converting the svg's to png, ksaad

looking forward to a shell pack, (complete with explorer toolbars?) vertigosity ;)

glad you're backing this, schmoove

You still need to work on that title bar, now it doesn't have the curve on the edges like the original theme has

Okay guys, got a beta for you. When using this for the first time, keep in mind of a few things. This is the first visual style I have ever worked on (yay! :p), so be nice if there is some super obvious thing that should be changed, or something that I've overlooked.

Also note, this is beta, so things can change, so I wanna hear your comments & suggesstions before it is completed that way there is still room for some improvement. :D

Anyways,

here goes.

kevcart3, I'm sorry... but i managed to make great stuff here, well.. of course thanks to you. Take my VS and start making the thin taskbar, because i don't know how to do it, as i'm totally wasted :D

And i want to have a glassy taskbar to play nice with titlebar. Let's keep up with that thing anyway.

I added glassy look for buttons, tabs, scrollbars, etc... Also.. added 3 extra color schemes. Will make more later !

Now eat THIS !!!

BTW... I've also ported the icon set ;) https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=411059

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
