iogear usb kvm not getting enough power?

Recommended Posts

I just bought an iogear 2port usb kvm (GCS632U) for two of my machines. When plugging computer1 into either port on the kvm, both the keyboard and mouse flicker like it's not getting enough power. however, when i switch to the second system, which can also be plugged into either port, the second system works fine. I've read that they dont work well with crazy keyboards and mice, however, im using a regular microsoft keyboard and microsoft optical mouse. Another thing, i would think that it wouldn't work in either systems if the keyboard and mouse were drawing too much power. I also tried only having just the mouse or just the keyboard plugged in and this doesnt seem to effect the flicking problem. The only other thing that i can think that might be causing this is where it's drawing this power from. Does this kvm pull power from the video card? I ask because the video card in the system that isnt working is a pci-e 7800gtx that only has dvi connectors.. and im using a dvi to dsub adapter. the other system that works fine with the kvm has a regular dsub connector on the video card (6800gt). the adapter im using looks the same as the one in the picture below. ive also tried every usb port on the system with no luck. any ideas on how i can make this work?
