MS Virtual Machine -

http://ftp.anadolu.edu.tr/pub/Win9x/MS%20V...va/msjavx86.exe

This is the last one before they took it offline.

(UPDATE) - Direct from the MS Knowlege Base - MS Virtual Machine

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?.../vm/dl_vm40.htm

Easier though is to get the plugin direct from SUN it runs smoother, and integrates with mozilla and other apps that need Java.

Sun XP Java Plugin -

http://dlres.java.sun.com/PluginBrowserChe...ava/others.html

Can these two ever decide to play nice.

the weird thing was is that i swear i had this installed, but when i was reinstalling openoffice today, it said no java found on the machine. so i just dl'ed the latest beta from java.sun.com and it fixed everythign up perfectly.

True..

But, come on, think the super giant of M$ could let someone else run apps well without messing over it's own people also. Keeps you dependant on them.

If you really want M$ VM 3805 (java) - just grab the secuity update dated march 4th - some security fix for VM. It contains the full version of VM.

You have to grab it from the cat though - not just a scan on winupdate.

This update was still avail as of a few days ago - I would suggest you grab and put the msjavx86.exe somewhere safe - for later use :)

It's slower ......

Most webpages are designed with I.E and Virtual Machine in mind and gives errors when used with SUN's Java only.

This isn't really SUN's fault but just the way things are.

SUN Microsystems won a courtcase against Microsoft, so they cant give you Java anymore, if you need it , go to Sun's homepage

it does not even show up on windows update for me so my only solution is Sun

i assume sun's version is to the letter, and that is why it "sucks" where as ms's is crippled, and mildly propertiry.

i would also assume that if i was sun, and i won the case, then i would make DANG sure that new users would have a great exerience with java. know what i mean?

    • I'd rather just wait for the Snipping Tool update to officially roll out. If I can't wait I'd Just use ShareX from the Microsoft Store for the same functionality...
    • Ah so it's not in the .ISO it's self but it changes the definition in the OOBE update during setup?
    • They always have. This just updates what's included out of the box during the initial install.
    • So basically their prebuilding it into the ISOs?
    • Microsoft shares Defender anti-virus update for new Windows 11/10 ISOs by Sayan Sen Following the one for Lumma last month, Microsoft has also published a new Defender update for Windows 11/10/Server installation images this month. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.431.54.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 (Enterprise, Pro, and Home editions), Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.431.54.0 was released this past week adds threat detections for various backdoor exploits, trojans, among others. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.431.155.0 at the time of writing.
