I lost all my partitions couple of days ago and didn't have any backups. Everything I made for the next version is gone. I don't feel like doing everything again yet so this is on hold for two weeks or so.

Very sorry to hear it dude :( You do GREAT work so I'm sure the wait will be worth it!!!!

Did Joni_78 ask Microsoft for permission as she says in her own words this is a modified version of 2005 MCE with some vista bitmaps. I think not.

I didn't and there is no chance to get answer for them, but if they want it removed someday I'm happy to do it.

Can someone tell me how I get this theme to work? It looks great and I really want it but can't work out what to do with it :(

I downloaded and unzipped the file but don't know what to do next. I tried putting the folder in C:>Windows>Resources>Themes but its not selecteable under the 'Themes' or 'Appearances' tabs in display properties.

What am I doing wrong???

Double click on it. Also you need to patch your uxtheme file before using non MS themes.

Ok, that is clearly the problem, I haven't patched the uxtheme file. Problem is this site seems useless for finding this. The patcher program doesn't work (says it can't work cos its detected NT files) and I can't replace the dll file manually because every link on this site to the uxtheme files seems to be dead

Err, thats a link to the patcher program that I said didn't work. I couldn't find the uxtheme files to replace them manually but someone suggested using flyakites patcher which worked perfectly.

Unfortunately after waiting so long to try the Energy Blue style I still prefer Royale. The start button looks wrong to me as it goes off the bottom of the page, I accept ths may be unavoidable (or may be the same in Vista), just giving my opinion. It also seems to make the formatting on some Windows pages look less attractive.

I know this style is not finished and as such its pretty damn good, just think I'll cross my fingers and wait till joni is able to continue working on it and make it even better ;)

Ok then you can use this program called replacer to patch manually uxtheme.dll. Grab the uxtheme.dll file from this.

    • In addition to the "sidebar app list" and "Collections" features, Microsoft will also deprecate the "Drop" feature. Before you publish this news and credit another site, here is the original source: https://x.com/i/status/2067838711870439583 .
    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
