Kingston Value Ram vs Kingston HyperX

I made a post a while back asking how I could overclock my computer more than 3.4ghz from 3.0ghz. Alot of people replyed saying I should buy better ram because I was overclocking using Kingston Value ram. I barrowed 2 sticks of 256MB DDR400 PC3200 (I think, but it could be slower PC2700 maybe?) Kingston HyperX ram from my friend and put them in my computer just to see if I can overlock anymore with the better ram everyone is talking about. I overlocked it to 3.75 ghz, and ran 3Dmark05 and CPU Burn In Test to see how stable it was. It was very stable and didnt crash. I was happy and desided to look for some HyperX ram. I looked on eBay and bought a 1GB stick of PC3500 DDR433 HyperX. Just like this one:'

I got it in the mail and installed it into my computer. I bootup my computer and it wont even boot up at 3.4ghz the speed I was running my computer at with my value ram. Just like this:

I tryed to run it at stock speed 3.0ghz, and it booted up just fine. Then I pushed it too 3.2ghz and it booted up just fine, but anything after that it doesent boot. I was thinking because I bought the DDR433 PC3500 it isnt compatible with my motherboard or something. I looked in the manual and PC3500 DDR433 isnt listed in compatible ram. Even so im not running the ram at 433mhz anyway im running it at 400mhz. I would think I could overclock my computer to the same speed as with my friends HyperX but I guess that isnt the case.

Why can I overclock higher with the crappy value ram? Is my new HyperX broken? My computer specs are in my Sig.

Should I just sell the DDR433 PC3500, and buy DDR400 PC3200?

Or is that not my problem?

woo.. that was a lot of reading, i think i reached my max. lol, anyways, ok, lets see if this will help you. Pretty much what u have to do is sell the new ram that u got, either return it or sell it on ebay, but get rid of it. then with the money, buy pc3200 or whathever ur friend had. Hyper x is for overclocking, u will get the computer speed higher. Reg ram is for home use like word and listen to a playlist of songs on media player. I did not lookup ur motherboard but im pretty sure it doesnt support the new RAM. So thats my thought on this, if anyone has something to correct me on, or add, please feel free. :)

THANKS, can I keep this DDR433 PC3500 in my computer till I get the new ram, or should I remove it and put back my old ram. This is a problem because I have plans to sell my old ram tonight to someone. The PC3500 seems to run fine in my computer, I just cant overlock past 3.2ghz.

Dont overclock it anymore(until u get the pc3200 ram), put it back to 3.0 to be safe, and then leave the new pc3500 on it until u get the new RAM, i dont think it will damage ur computer. Just wont run at its full potential. :)

So are you sure my overlocking problem is because the ram I bought isnt supported by my motherboard. Anyone else know anything?
