[Shell Patcher] Tango Icons for Windows

Recommended Posts

Yet the RAM usage advantage is still by great means in favour of Miranda. 6-10MB << 20-25MB

Sticking with Miranda though I am considering jacking Pidgin imagery :)

I got 1GB RAM :p so I don't really care about memory-eating apps these days.

But yeah Miranda seems a lot 'lighter' not only in RAM usage but in general.

I was poking around my Firefox add-ons and noticed I hadn't changed my Splash extension's picture in a while. Seeing as how I love a good splash screen, I decided to make one in Tango-style.

There it is, and it's free-to-use if anyone feels like it. You'll need the Splash extension for it, but you can just as easily set it as an about window picture.

Well, I'm about 75% done with one. I have it saved on some Gmail account. Anyway, I keep meaning to get it done but a bunch of stuff keeps happening away from the computer (a.k.a Life) and I havn't had the chance to sit down and focus on the skin. Um...I'll try and get back into it if possible. No promises. I'll keep a look out for a link to any skins that might pop up in the meantime.

Any further progress on it? I die every time I launch TB2.0 without tango. lol

I'm really sorry but no, I haven't even touched the TB skin. I have a TON of things I said I'd do which I haven't done and the whole reason I skin to to contribute to the tech world (however meekly) which I am not doing. Tell you what, I will most likely not be able to get any sleep tonight because I am an insufferable insomniac so after I get back from class I'll see how much I can get done on the Tango TB skin. You are using Tango right? Tangerine and GNOME are coming after Tango if I ever get around to finishing it.

You do know that Gears of War doesn't play itself, right?

Anyways, I'll try and find you that FoxyTunes skin. It's probably somewhere on my FTP. If it is not, tough luck. I deleted/lost/ate the source files ages ago. Although they may be on my other other drive.... I'm confusing myself now.

I'm making a Git2 opera theme, this is the first theme I've tried to make so it may take a while, although opera seems relitivly easy to skin, here's a preview:

Only thing I'm having trouble with is finding some good images that fit for certain functions, so there will probably be some older looking place holder images.

Looking good! Good to see more people focusing on Git2. To be honest, when I'm in my "I LOVE EVERYONE! PUPPIES!" mood Git2 really seems appealing. Such bright colors and happiness! If ya need any help trying to figure out which icons to use for what feel free to ask here. One of us will know.

Judging it as a Tango skin:>
  • - The icons as a setdon't seem to be in balance>, pretty random actually. + Maybe it's theyellow> that doesn't go all that well with some of them.

- It's hard to give WLM the Tango look since theGUI of the application itself isn't as simple> as in the case of, for example, GTK-derived apps (Pidgin, GIMP, Ooo etc.) which have much simpler interfaces.

So in short:> Sorry but I don't like it. Doesn't have theTango feel> which I thought is important if you post it on a Tango forum:))

P.S.>

Thanks for your work. One way or another it's great to see those efforts coming:DD

I saw ViperAFK's Opera theme and Sooperdoode's Tb 2.0 theme are getting done.

Au contraire, I checked the Pidgin site for the latest public release build a few days ago and didn't find anything, so I wouldn't have checked for another week or so if you hadn't said anything :p

Aha! So I have managed to find something Tango before the great vertigosity! You probably knew of the native Tango on the new version before me though. You're still a god, sir :p

You do know that Gears of War doesn't play itself, right?

It doesn't? Oh. I didn't know that :p. Sorry to interrupt!

Judging it as a Tango skin:
  • - The icons as a set don't seem to be in balance, pretty random actually. + Maybe it's the yellow that doesn't go all that well with some of them.
    - It's hard to give WLM the Tango look since the GUI of the application itself isn't as simple as in the case of, for example, GTK-derived apps (Pidgin, GIMP, Ooo etc.) which have much simpler interfaces.

So in short: Sorry but I don't like it. Doesn't have the Tango feel which I thought is important if you post it on a Tango forum :)

I think the skin is good but I agree that WLM is tough to Tangoize due to it's natural interface. No fault to Daeron, of course. MS made WLM to fit Vista and the Windows Live colors and all which clash a bit with Tango. I think the skin is actually quite good so far but it could be polished a bit and more could be done to make it fit more into the Tango world. I don't use WLM and can only imagine that it is difficult to skin so don't take my opinion to seriosly!

Oh, and I'm sure ViperAFK is working way more on the Opera skin than I am with the TB2 skin. I am working on it though ;)

i'm open to suggestions and bare in mind that i'm new to the whole msn skinning but i will try to improve it and when i'm stuck i just ask like i have done this past days, thkz to willz and

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
