Getting WinMX to work behind a Firewall....

Is there anyway that you can get winmx to work behind a firewall without opening up any ports?

arn't these the default port numbers?

These must be blocked on out firewall cos i can't get out using the numbers... :(

if u open them it should unblock them :ermm: if not...... then u should try using the "Make a secondary connection to a network" on the "Networks" button t the top left of win mx :p

we can't open the ports... i for some reason the make secondary connection isn't working :( i've put in all my proxy details and im using the administrator account to validate on the proxy.... but it still won't play

PROXY!!! ... can't help u there then :ermm: sowwy :sleeping:. i use ICS i can open port numbers :p. IMO... proxys r CRAP!. use ICS or NAT or router or something like that but NOT proxy

i got it to work fine behind a firewall by not letting it search for my settings but instead just using all the default vaules in the custom setup

I'm using winMX behind zonealarm pro....all i did was let it act as a server... za did the rest.. works fine for me, and i never entered any firewall details in the winmx app :D

read the actual software, try using the secondary connection, for me, if i don't use the secondary connection, my router just blocks everything.
