I fail to see a true reason why.

Because the artist has made it clear MODS AREN'T ALLOWED. Meaning if any are posted in here an ADMIN will delete the post.

You need to drop the subject. I apologize to everyone else for replying to this, but I noticed the person waits a while before replying. Making everyone think the subject is dropped then they bring it up again.

If you bring it up again I'll start reporting you as SPAM and I ask that others do so as well. Right now that's technically what you're doing whenever you argue about this. Drop it, seriously. You're acting like a little kid over such a stupid little subject as a mod for a theme. I doubt any kind of mod you did would better the theme. It's perfectly fine how it is.

I don't really consider mods functioning to "better" a theme, but rather to allow a variety of more choices for way of preference. I think that Microsoft discovered a variety of customization options is key for a good visual style, which would explain all of the customization options in Windows Vista. But, it is perfectly clear that it is too much to ask of the authors of Luna Element to keep to the theme's roots which developed it's popularity and provide several key color options - like simply offering the black theme with green rather than orange elements.

Royale Vista II is developing into a much better theme anyway...

Initially I didn't even intend to release the LE5.1 black because of the fact I didn't think the quality would meet the same standard as the blue theme. And in my personal opinion, it didn't. But people didn't want to wait for a better black style (unrelated to LE), and because of persistence by forum users... LE5.1 Black. It probably couldn't have turned out any differently with the gray backgrounds which ruined the LE feel imo. Orange, green or blue, it probably wouldn't have mattered. You can never satisfy everyone.

No offense to Capric0rn who worked hard to finish the theme and made it as good as it could possibly get. I know for a fact we haven't seen the last of his work, and the future sure looks promising. :)

It seems that everyone has turned against me in arguing this; I meant only to play the devil's advocate. I wasn't trying to be threatening in mentioning "what if" about releasing a mod or anything; I respect em3 and capric0rn's wishes in not having mods released but if I personally see other people making mods of a theme I don't wish to make myself as welcome help, just as long as credit is given (in addition to the fact that I don't think either of the two exactly have legal control over what it done). To each their own though. I find some of the comments from other users interesting...but I many of you failed to see my point.

No, no. I see your point very clearly. You were wondering what would be done IF a mod was released and not taken down when asked, correct? I'm not sure what em3 could do as he is the sole "owner" of the Luna Element style but I do believe he could issue a cease and desist order (if he really wanted to) to any party distributing a modification of his work EVEN with credit given by said party. Because em3 clearly stated that mods were not allowed under any circumstance, I believe legal action could be taken. I may be wrong though. It's an interesting thought.

It really is the authors choice of whether he or she or they want mods released. Some themers don't mind or care and some do. If there is something you don't particularly like about the theme, it is nice to have an option to change it and yes, sometimes a mod IS freely available (which is incredibly helpful and saves you time). However, overall, it is the original themer's style (whether it is based or "inspired" from a previous style or not) and he or she has the final say as to what can and cannot be done with the skin and what will or will not be featured.

I think the other posters are just frustrated to see the mod issue brought up again. We've spent a couple of pages discussing why mods ar enot allowed and arguing about how right or wrong it is. I think several of the regular visitors to this thread were relieved to see the issue dropped regardless of how it was resolved. So, don't feel like any of the posts are a personal attack on you. It's probably just better to drop the subject and move on. The last thing we need is for a mod to come in here and take action. There is no telling what a mod would do to clean things up.

Sour grapes is the false denial of desire for something sought but not acquired; to denigrate and feign disdain for that which one could not attain.

The phrase is sometimes also used to refer to one expressing, in an unsportsmanlike or ungracious way, anger or frustration at having failed to acquire something (i.e. being a "sore loser"), regardless of whether the party denies their desire for the item. Not including the denial of desire is technically a slipshod extension of the metaphor because it is inconsistent with the phrase's origin in the fable and the notion of the grapes being "sour".

Smeltn, I'm a graphic artist...I've already modded Luna Element exactly the way I want it to be. This doesn't even apply at all. I was speaking more on the behalf of the less graphically capable :)

So what's your Problem? Use your LE-Mod for yourself and be happy :) .

Not everyone is completely self-centered...and it would probably shut up the posts about making 3,432,343 changes to the theme. BUT moving on.

Shigeru Miyamoto once said "A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever" - the longer it takes to develop the theme, the better the outcome, wouldn't you say?

That's why I'm taking my time with my new WIP. em3 did the same with LE5.1 and that turned out great! No bugs whatsoever. I probably should have done that with LE 5.1 Black as well ;) Ah well.. people learn from their mistakes so =P

Note: This is the last thing that's said about my new WIP in this thread. This is a thread for Luna Element so ;)

And come on guys, let's drop the mod subject for everyones sake, alright? Then no one will get hurt :shifty:

    • Ahh, I didn't know that. It makes sense. I was thinking I would be fine with 50 hours, but 100 is close enough that I wouldn't feel like I am paying for more than I am using. I might check it out sometime.
    • Google's next-gen Tensor AI chips might be produced by Samsung, report says by Hamid Ganji Image via Google Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) is produced in collaboration with companies such as Broadcom and TSMC, but a recent report suggests that the search giant is in talks with Samsung to hand over part of the production to the Korean tech company. According to a report by The Information, citing people familiar with the matter, Google has begun talks with Samsung about using its chip manufacturing capacity for the next generation of Tensor AI chips. Google’s upcoming TPUs are reportedly codenamed “Icefish” and will be produced using Samsung's 2-nanometer process technology. Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to produce only a portion of the next-generation Tensor chips, with most of the production remaining at TSMC. The Information says the new Tensor chips are currently in the design stage and are scheduled to enter mass production in 2028. TSMC is generally considered one of the most reliable chip manufacturing partners and is trusted by tech giants such as Apple and Google. However, the growing demand for TSMC’s AI chips, combined with the company’s focus on meeting demand from AI data centers, has reportedly prompted Google to seek additional manufacturing partners for its next-generation TPUs. Besides Samsung and TSMC, Intel could also be assigned part of the production. The Information reported this week is that Google has begun talks with Intel to produce up to three million TPUs in 2028. However, this is not the first time Google has partnered with Samsung on chip production, as Samsung has previously manufactured Tensor chips for Pixel smartphones. Google’s Tensor Processing Unit is used in cloud data centers and competes with NVIDIA’s chips, which currently dominate the market. By relying on in-house chips, Google can not only reduce its dependence on third-party providers but also create new revenue opportunities. The company has already supplied its TPUs to the AI firm Anthropic.
    • Reminder that the Premium and Ultimate plans already come with a 100 hour per month limit, which you then have to pay more to increase in 15 hour blocks.
    • It does invite Linux because MS should have been improving their products all along these years instead chose to ignore the users now this year they’re making all of these improvements to their products where as Linux doesn’t have this kind of problems in fact it has gotten so good I can even play Windows games in Steam that I no longer ever needed Windows to carry on with my life, unlike you still use Windows and chose to try beat down down those who don't use Windows because they love their LG TV. (Surprisingly I actually own a 55” LED LG TV and it has been going strong for almost 14 years, longer than any Sony TV”)
    • As much as I love owning my own hardware, it's hard to argue with the value. I'm not a huge gamer, I'd actually be interested in a cheaper plan with limited monthly hours, or even a pay-by-the-hour plan.
