Ah, that makes sense. I'm not a skinner at all. Used to be a coder though. I figured that application skins were mostly just substitution of graphics onto a base code that came from the application makers themselves. Maybe that would be true for Classic skins and not Modern ones. Who knows?

According to what I learned in copyright class, if Capric0rn used his own code and came up with that "look" then he'd be fine, versus actually re-using the code. Also learned that if there is only one way to code something, no copyright can exist in that code, since the code (expression) is too closely tied to the idea (the look), and ideas receive no protection, just the way the idea is expressed.

Not that anyone cares about what I learn in law school  We're just waiting on Blue fighter so we can get a kick ass skin. Carry on.

yep Classic skin are just change the graphics and use the base code. Modern skin very are different, you need to code them.

I didnt know the one way to code thing you mentioned. :)

nice theme, but can it be more compact please? i have a laptop and every pixel of space is valuable to me. thanks!

No compact start menu or thin taskbar sorry

EDIT: well people have asked here and devianart about compact start menu. I think Im going to update the theme with compact start menu tomorrow.

I made a little update for the start menu text problem that __kret posted. Not a big change but it looks better than grey.

I think blueslaad is going to work with it. I need to contact him.

Not yet, I havent started it.

I cant do that with Stylebuilder

this is to comment on the faded icons. could you elaborate on your answer. i don't get this with other styles. thank you.

This theme is wonderful, I love the start menu... one of the first themes in a long time where I like having the full start menu, the gradient is just so purty. The buttons are very nice, the restore/max/close buttons are just perfect. Again, wonderful theme KoL.

Hey KoL, how many hours (days?) does it take you to come up with an idea for a VS and then realize it?

I was working with this theme for about a month. The theme is not similar to what I originally wanted but that always happens when you are designing something.

Well stylebuilder dont have control over icons. Maybe the problem is the highlight color. Change it on Display Properties > Appearance Tab > Advanced Button >Selected Item Color1

Beautifull theme again kol. Great work.

Btw kol i read your name in a dutch newspaper this morning in an article about vista skins.

LOl really?? :p I would love to see that. :D

Awesome, btw did you fix this bug on the Alunamin skin? If you use time remaining, the addition of the minus sign pushes the numbers into the skin vis. Doesn't occur if you have the time elapsed. See pictures.

Wow I have to say you have to be on of the best skinners out there you deliver fast and without fuss and the themes are always quality. This theme is just top quality the reason being everything just fits right down to the right click menus. Only thing is the top start button doesnt look as good on top but .. i can fix that myslef.

I hope you last a long time yet to come (Y)

Very nice skin, I love the colors. I think I might have found a few glitches.

1. The MSN search field on the startmenu looks odd, its up too high.

2. The google search field on google toolbar looks weird.

Thanks for the awesome skin and I hope these issues are fixed.

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while.
