I think my cat just killed a possum! (PHOTOS)

you actually examined the skeleton, dont you have anything better to do with your time, as well as your dad.........worrying !

Come on, you're sitting at your computer posting in a thread about a skeleton that he examined, and you say he has nothing better to do?

haha, nice story :p i dont think a cat is capable of killing, and eating an animal of that site.. It was probably something like a racoon, that ate it apart..

cute cat :p :cat:

I had a tough pet rooster once. He was so bad ass. He was very use to humans, he would come up to you and do a little dance around your feet.

A possum almost killed him once, a lady beat him in the head with a walking cane, and the dog almost chewed him up. He still lived.

In the end he got run over by the neighbor's car. Damn I miss that bird.

The cat is innocent. Clearly the cat didn't do it. It's just looks to clean.

O rly??? (sorry, couldn't resist) It seems like that skeleton is a bit large for your cat to have killed it (though of course it's really hard to judge perspective), but if it was small enough, it seems perfectly reasonable to believe that the cat did kill it. Supercat - protecting our back yards from critters one skeleton at a time...

Well, some of you have suggested that it might have been a younger possum, and that's entirely possible too. The possum that we thought it might have been actually lived under our deck, and had babies a while ago, so my cat might be not just a possum killer, but a baby killer. I'll make sure to post more photos if I find anything else lying dead in our yard. :)

EDIT: Go Steelers!

I doubt that a cat can take on something that size AND strip it clean. Cat's (in my experiance) dont eat everything if they can't fit it down their throat whole (they would with something as small as a mouse).

totally wrong. my cat kills squirrels and birds and eats them in the backyard. most times he only leaves the tail behind

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates.
