Fat Camp on MTV

Recommended Posts

Has anyone watched this show? I don't typically watch MTV or even much TV for the matter, but this show seems to strike me as pretty humourous.

They were just questioning this girl if she left the weight loss camp to go buy snacks. She denied it, but they had her on camera leaving to go buy poptarts and other assorted junk food.

After watching that whole 2 hour program and watching them shed of as much as 30+ pounds, I was a bit upset at the end where 90% gained ALL of their weight back. What the ****ing hell?

I don't think that the people realised that if they wanted to lose the weight, they would need to make a lifestyle change and not ever go back to their old eating and exercise habits. Or if they did realise this but just didn't want to make such a big change and not be able to eat the food they used to. I don't think I'll ever understand how people can just let themselves become so unhealthy.

Shows like this make me want to puke.

It's bad enough overweight people are stigmatized already, belittled by everyone and gawked at and laughed at to their own faces.

Walk a mile in someones shoes, then pass judgement.

Unless the person has a hormonal problem he/she brought it upon his/her self. Honestly, being fat is lack of care for one's self and SHOULD be looked down upon. I'll never feel bad for fat people unless as stated, it's because of a hormonal problem. You have a choice - and it's easier to have a healthy lifestyle then to stuff your face with junk food.

There's no excuse.

You have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Hormonal problems are a small minority of the overweight population. There are many other factors that cause someone to be overweight.

Are you saying someone who weighs alot, doesn't care about themselves? And that it's OK to make them feel like ****?

Your views on the subject is exactly why the majority of the population acts the way they do in regards to overweight people. It's ok to make fun of them, it's ok to make them feel like they are worthless, it's ok to make them feel like they don't exist, it's ok to make them feel like they should just die and no one will give a damn if they do. Yeah, it really doesn't matter, after all they are just fat ugly people who will never amount to anything, right?

Which, other than self-negligence?

Didn't say that. I'm saying I do not grief for them. I respect a person no matter what he/she might weigh, I'm just saying that honestly - if it's not some kind of problem such as hormonal deficiency where the person is unable to take control of it, then there's no excuse for obesity. It takes more food, more time, and less care to get fat. Being healthy is far from hard. Getting fat is pure choice. If you're fat and you brought it upon yourself because you ate like a pig - I will not feel sorry for you, nor will I understand any state of depression you might find yourself in. It's not excuseable, just about the same as crack addicts and tobacco smokers - your brought it upon yourself. Nobody forced you to eat too much.

There's no need to snap back at me, show me your point of view, or show me something I may not be seeing, and I'll gladly concur if I think it makes sense. Not here for bickering, I'm here for a conversation - if I can gain something from it, so much the better.

I agree. My sister is 100 lbs overweight, which actually is considered morbidly obese, in accordance with the BMI scale (Body Mass Index) and all she does is eat carbs and sweets, desert after every meal and NO exercise. I tease her all the time, does that make me an A-hole, fine so be it, she brings it upon herself. Anytime that someone has control of their actions and fail to do so I do not feel sorry for them, this includes drunk drivers that die in car wrecks, smokers and lung cancer, drug users that OD, etc..... .

lol amerika

Not sure what you mean but.. This isn't a problem in only America. You can find it anywhere (except in nations with severe hunger obviously).

There's already been posts in this thread from people in Europe, Canada (technically America), ect. Discriminating pompous jerkoffs come from everywhere. The type of people who automatically assume an overweight person without a biological (in terms of genes) reason is somehow lazy and pathetic.

Guess what? Some people are, I don't doubt that. But there are so many possible reasons why someone is overweight.. Severe depression is one of the biggest. And people like you who make things worse and insult/belittle someone for their condition just make me sick.

yeah i know it not just amrika but you'll find that the 90% of ppl who cry about it are amerikan and i'd like to say to them

LIVEING MOTHERF*****ER DO YOU DO IT?

I'm not commenting on your views, nor anyone else's in this thread, yet.

Just a neutral statement, i want to point out that the percentage of people who are overweight due to genes, or genetic reasons is less that 3%.

Ever think that she eats because you treat her badly? I mean, how can you make someone depressed, and then make fun of them when they do something because of the depression. Maybe you are the problem?

Some people just dont and wont understand that... sadly tho...

Luckily i don't have paid tv here, i wouldnt want to come across that show, it's kind of... stupid...

And i get most of them won't even get to the "finish line"...

Sad really...

The Ultra 9 185H features 16 cores and 22 threads running at up to 5.1 GHz. It also includes a dedicated NPU utilizing Intel AI Boost at 11 TOPS. On the graphics front, the 185H includes the still fairly capable ARC Graphics (not to be confused with the newer ARC 140T) integrated GPU with a max GPU frequency of 2350 MHz across 8 Xe-cores. It has been said that the iGPU is equivalent to the NVIDIA GeForce 3050 and GTX 1650 in gaming and synthetic benchmarks. Other highlights include an AMOLED display, LPDDR5x memory at 7467 MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. AI PC? Although the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H includes a dedicated NPU, it's only 11 TOPS; therefore, it does not qualify as a Copilot+ PC. However, it can reach up to 33 TOPS with a combination of NPU, CPU, and GPU. As I said, although we only reviewed the X14 Pro, the unboxing is the same for the X16 Pro, which I noted in my review. The packaging is quite a nice experience. The outer box houses the X16 Pro box with a small compartment that contains the 5-in-1 Dock ($40 value), which appears to be an "Early Bird" inclusion. Upon removing the box cover, the X16 Pro is revealed sitting in a cardboard compartment with two small booklets of documentation. To the left of the X16 Pro are two cardboard compartments containing the 65W charger and Type-C USB cable. What’s In The Box 1 x GEEKOM X16 Pro Ultra-thin Laptop 1 x Type-C to Type-C cable 1.8M 1 x 65W GaN PD Fast Charger 1 x Warranty Card 1 x Thank You Card 1 x User Guide All products sold by GEEKOM receive a 3-year free Warranty from the date you receive the product. If needed, you can RMA or return locally relative to your region (the U.S. has a U.S. warehouse, mainland E.U. has a German warehouse). • We are reached to the point that apple looks affordable and better choice than anything else, in what dystopia are we living in....
    • Ouch. $1600 for 256GB SSD / 16GB? Even Apple, the purported "target" of Surface devices for a long time, has its MacBook Air M5 at 512GB SSD / 16GB RAM for $999 MSRP. Surface will never be reasonably priced with such low volumes.
    • Sadly price is pretty in line with the other new X2 devices so far. RAM/SSD prices have ruined everything.
