Ricky Williams tests positive again!

That has nothing to do with my argument about athletes and the money they make and the rules they should follow (like many of us do). I am well aware that all walks of life are involved with drugs & alcohol.

That quote is what I was bitching about.

Do you really think the NFL would take marijuana off of the banned substances list if it was legalized?

There are some real idiots on this board. Probably been smoking too much dope.

considering weed does nothing to improve your performance, there would be no reason to ban it. It would be the player's own fault if he became useless because of the drug's use. It is not addictive, nor is it enhancing, so it would player's fault and that fault alone. I see no reason ban the substance when the consequences would be the same as someone who got drunk before a game and didn't perform well.

Yes, it does. You said money matters in your above. You were implying that because a person makes more money they should some how make better decisions than an average person. I don't think. If you are trying to say something different explain yourself. Also, I think you have a problem with player salaries, too. Jealous maybe. You said it yourself, most of us follow the rules. Not all. So, why should pro sports be any different? Why are there idiots on this board? Just because they don't agree with you that marijuana is some super dangerous drug that will destroy a person's life. Reefer Madness strikes again.

Dreaming Digital wasn't really defending Rickey Williams. He was commenting on the knee-jerk comments suggesting a harsher penalty for Rickey's positive drug test.

I'm not saying that weed is so great, but to drop to insults when someone doesn't agree with on the drug policy is not good at all.

I was not implying that a person that makes millions of dollars every year should make better decisions. I was implying that I was sick of people backing them up (when they do screw up) & sick of them bitching about rules (NBA dress code for example).

If an athlete doesn't agree w/ and doesn't follow the drug policy then they have no right to play. Just like I have no right to work at my employer if I do drugs.

Many athletes do get paid way too much money. I am not jealous, it is just rediculous. I really can't stand when some of these fools bitch about needing more money because they need to feed their family.

Why shouldn't fans back up their favorite players to a certain degree? If a player continues to screw up then fans will turn against a player. In this case, some people are turning this into a case for the decriminalization of marijuana and don't see it any worse alcohol. I haven't seen any say that he should be suspended if his appeal is denied. As for the rules it really depends on the specific rule. Some criticism concerning the rules is right on. The whole dress code thing was overblown. It was an attempt by the NBA to present a more positive look after the whole fight in Detroit. Alot of people don't think it was needed because a suit doesn't really change how people will perceive the NBA.

It depends on the company and their drug policy. Some companies will offer treatment to their employees instead of outright firing. It depends on what is agreed upon by the union and mangement. The NFLPA and the NFL agreed to the current drug testing policies and penalties. Any company can do that if they wanted to. It hard to compare the NFL drug policies to real world companies because we don't hear about their employees screw-ups unless we work there or know that person. I know of some people who have gone to work visiblely drunk and were sent home, but were allowed to keep their job. If it became a problem then they were offered rehab or they would lose their job. Even if they did love their job, there were ways to get their jobs back.

I would agree that certain players are overpaid compared to their production. I would put the blame more on the owners than the players. If they overpay then its their fault. That struck me a a negiotiating ploy used on the owners and not meant for us. Either way I don't put much stock in their salary when I see how much owners make off their respective leagues. Also if salaries get too much for the league to bear, we will see something like hockey lockout.

Rumors have it that Rickey didn't test positive for weed in his last drug test.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/foot...test/index.html

SI.com -- Dolphins' running back Ricky Williams has again tested positive for drug use, according to the Miami Herald, a violation that could result in a one-year suspension under the league's substance abuse policy.

The Herald cited two sources saying that Williams tested positive for a fourth time, but neither would disclose what substance Williams used. He had tested positive for marijuana on three previous occasions.

Marijuana use was a major contributor in Williams walking away from football in 2004, just days before the start of Dolphins' training camp.

He returned to the NFL last season, and was forced to sit out the first four games and was fined four weeks pay for his second and third substance abuse violations.

The 1998 Heisman winner also tested positive in December 2003 and in the '04 offseason.

Williams rushed for 743 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games this season, ending a streak of four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

 CCleaner for him

My guess would be some type of steroids. He was out of the league for an year not working out and doing drugs. It is a little suspicious that he was able to return so fast, you dont just gain that type of muscle that fast.

I doubt it was steroids. From the reports, he showed up to camp under his playing weight from 2003 season. He really didn't come on till a few games after his suspension.

    • Happens to the best of us, bro. 😛
    • Thanks to some of the other recent Windows improvements, I'm optimistic about this one. My quick wishlist would be: perf like the older menu, merge both menus or at the very least, the older menu should be a flyout, not a simulated click to the old menu, and lastly, a customization window to let users move items from one menu to another, so I could bring Send To back to the main menu, and the OneDrive settings to the older.
    • This Gigabyte AMD RX 9070 XT is very good deal despite the launch of 9070 GRE by Sayan Sen Recently we reviewed AMD's latest 1440p gaming card, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB, for $549. The card is in stock too at that price, though if you want significantly better performance and don't mind spending a bit more, the Gigabyte Gaming model of RX 9070 XT is currently on sale for just $650 (purchase link under the specs table down below). The card employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The technical specifications of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G are given in the table below: Specification Value Core Clock Boost Clock: up to 3060 MHz Game Clock: up to 2520 MHz Stream Processors 4096 Memory Clock 20 Gbps Memory Size 16GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Bus 256-bit Card Bus Interface PCI Express 5.0 Maximum Resolution 7680 × 4320 Multi-View Support 4 displays Card Dimensions L=288 mm, W=132 mm, H=56 mm Recommended Power Supply 750W Power Connectors 3 × 8-pin Video Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB Graphics Card, GV-R9070XTGAMING OC: $649.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $740) This Amazon deal is US-specific and not available in other regions unless specified. • Why does this kind of tactic not surprise me?
    • They used AI based TOOLS to convert the JavaScript engine (the main rendering engine is still C++) and it was not fully automated but was human reviewed. Other subsystems will be looked into to also be converted to Rust in the future. I have no problem with any of that.
