Most Chinese food in countries other than China are not stricly "Chinese food".

If u go to China, and eat the food there, u'll be amazed how much different they are.

Here in Australia chinese food is actually mostly Malaysian influence. But in Malaysia, there are Malaysians of Chinese descent, and Malaysians of Malay(or Muslim) descent, of which the former is what most Chinese food in Australia mostly originates from. So in a way it still is "Chinese" food but it doesn't necessarily come from China. In fact if you were from a Western country and wanted to visit china expecting the chinese food to be about the same as what you eat at home, only better, you'd be really disappointed! I am part chinese(my mums from malaysia) and I have to admit I think most real "China" cuisine is either too bland, too weird, or too gross.

It's funny because most full blood westerners probably eat more fried rice than I do, for example my mum might cook friend rice once in 2 weeks, tops.

I try not to eat too much "Take-out". It's just alot different from what my mom (Family's Chinese) makes during dinner. Another reason I don't order too often from Chinese take-out is because I've seen where everything is stored and made. Some times it's a cclean place... most of the time... it's not.
