Nintendo Code Name "Revolution" Could be NEX!

Recommended Posts

I just visited a blog and here is what was posted in it:

Developers, some of them, are receiving the ultimate Revolution-developer-kit for Nex, I mean, for Revolution. The first developer-kit was a GameCube with a Revolution controller. Do you remember when somebody was sending e_mails about Revolution developer kit? He could tell you I had replied right.

Revolution has a lot of RAM, more than a simple 104MB, you should know we have 512 of flash memory and developers will be able to use that memory for games. So, Isn't it a Revolution way to create technolgy? Yes, is it.

To sum up, I'm gonna tell u, u should wait until GDC. You won't see all u need to know about Revolution, but you'll know amazing news from Nex, I mean, Revolution.

Remember that this is unconfirmed, but it would definitely fit the bill for a great name. I mean the first nintendo system was known as NES, so NEX would be perfect. :D The information is from

Nintendo Revolution Blog

There were a couple of other curious things mentioned in that blog you linked. This point about the other secret about the revolution controller:

Otherwise, there are still a secret about Revolution, about the way you'll play a game. With the controller pad you will be able to play a new gaming experience, but...Do you remember when I spoke about "you'll feel inside the game"? Keep thinking about it, cause the controller pad doesn't let you feel like inside the game. The I-Adapter will let you to feel that feeling.

'I-Adapter'? At this point I thought it was a bit fishy, but then there was this further down:

After some research it turns out the guy who runs the blog, one 'Osoko Tanaka' is the subject of much speculation about whether he really works for Nintendo or is a fake. There's evidence for both arguments by the looks of it, I'm not sure what to think

Nice way to get hits, soz but I dont believe this guy for one minute and am dubious about any Rev info unless its from one of the Ninty Execs like Shigsy.

IMHO Nex is a bad name if indeed there was any credability to it. I mean For flips sake, Ninty have already finalized the name pretty much, online ad campaigns and there entire product placement is based on this name.

To me Nex is implying, the next generation where as Revolution implys Renaissance

    • Wow, spoken like a true blind hater, you don't even provide arguments. Please, go check my comment above to @seacaptain and you'll find out why what you say doesn't make sense in this context...
    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
