This guy not only does the talk, he does the walk

Stephen Malone is readying himself at his ancestral home "San Martin", Kildare, Ireland. Why am I telling you this? Read on! On 1 April, Steve will begin his epic 40,000 kilometer ?World Wide Walk?. His goal is to raise funds for Aids Orphans. Steve will attempt to remain in touch with all that contact him through his Treo650. If you do not wish to participate in any manner then please be kind enough to give this guy a plug. The cause it worthy!! Want to go with Steve then let us know and we will find a way that you can participate in this epic event.

He looks very frail - will he make the 40,000K walk?

Yeah! I told him to put a few pounds on and he is said "no" that would be more weight to carry.

Who's going to be witness? He will probabbly have couple of hidden motorcycles in diff countries.

When I asked him the same question about witness, he anwsered "You know who!" This is a former Catholic Priest, that left the priesthood due to falling in love with his very beautiful wife. I doubt he would use motorcycles! What is he going to do ride up and down the roads for 5 years? Then it would be called "World-Wide-Motorcycle-Ride" instead of "World-Wide-Walk"

PLEASE, Help me plug this for him!

I have just one question.

There are two (possibly three depends on what route you take) large bodies of sal****er between Europe and North America, and North America and Asia.

Is he Jesus?

EDIT: WHY THE HELL IS SAL****ER FILTERED!?

wonder if around the world means, around the world only in land :p

ps. sal****er

thats so funny :/

So is this guy is trying to pull a Forrest Gump or what? I agree it is for a good cause, but first of all he probably picked the worst possible date to start (April 1st? WTF? Who takes that seriously? IS it a joke?) and as mentioned, you don't WALK AROUND THE WORLD. It will be interesting to see exactly how he goes about this, because I have a feeling it will look more like an extended vacation than a greuling walk around the world.

[EDIT] did anyone else check out the link for the company doing the "hosting and web design services" for this guy? Good Lord... they call that Web Design? He probably could have given his 12-year-old nephew $5 for a better site than that. I hope to God he isn't actually paying those people money for that crap! Man their site is sad... oh dammit they're based out of my home state too! LOL[/EDIT]

Hmm how long will he take with all of this? Seems like more then a year to walk around the whole globe. Even I wouldn't do it, biking... maybe but walking don't think so. Weak legs can't take all that walking.

The plan calls for 5 years total.

HAHA if you go to his links section there is a link to Neowin.Net. saying "as written about" How did he know we had this topic going? Quick little old man

I am acting as his publicist trying to get the word out, get support and of course donations, for the next five years. I first got invloved less than a month ago.

wonder if around the world means, around the world only in land tongue.gif

Of course!

I realize that it is not the best site but I doing the best by first putting the fires out. I will have a lot of time to improve the site over time. The object is to get the word out and not win design contests, right now anyway. If you want to help on the design, provide me with a finished product and donate it to the cause. If you cannot due to time etc., then I will understand.

The website looks a bit..ugh..

But his cause is good, let's hope he gets some coverage over local networks.

I finally looked at it in IE and understand what you are talking about. Been working in FF and designed in NVU. For now I have done fire control and put the big fires out then over time I will perfect this site. Again, as publicist, webmaster and everything else, I just came on board less than a month ago. Looking for sponsors, arranging the site, solving communcation problems, doing the website and a zillion other taks to be done.

Please continue with soft critiques and point to problems that I can fix or suggest how I can do so.

If people can help me out with advise, pointers and plugs, I would appreciate it mucho.

yes, because apparently he`s already above temptation right :shifty:

    • Can confirm, I've built stuff for others and no complaints using their products.
    • Yes I agree, it's annoying. You can now miss tabs unless you point low enough.
