Loving it.. good work :)

but i cant get it to work for Melbourne,Australia.. I dont know what code to use for melbourne, I've entered Melbourne,Australia no space no worky.

What am i doing wrong ? :/

I replied to your problem over at the Aqua-Soft forum, but I'll copy and paste here too.

Have you tried typing just Melbourne? I tried it and it seemed to work just fine (unless there's a Melbourne in the US that I don't know about).

EDIT: I see you did. When I tried it I got the weather for Melbourne right away. The code is ASXX0075 if you want to try that. Other than that, I don't know why it isn't working for you. Sometimes when I'm messing around and enterting various cities too quickly it will keep me waiting like you are experiencing. Try restarting AveDesk perhaps?

Anyone know of an .ini change I can make so it will "remember" a change to the background being used (when re-booting PC)?? As stated earlier in the thread, when re-booting, it automatically displays w/ the default smoked background....

I updated the README.txt file with a solution to that problem. Here is the updated part, copied and pasted from it:

SMOKED BACKGROUND ON EVERY STARTUP: Lucid Weather will always startup with the smoked background even if you used the clear one last. If you want Lucid Weather to startup with the clear background every time instead, right click Lucid Weather, select Configure, go to the Overlays tab, and switch the "Background (smoked)" and "Background (clear)" values by using the Move Up/Move Down buttons.

I believe that will do the trick. Otherwise you can configure each value and have them point to the opposite .png file by using the browse button.

Is it possible to have two of these lucid weather applets running at the same time?

Everytime I load another Lucid Weather (so I now have 2), I change to two different cities, but every time i reboot or close avedesk, it overlaps and changes back to one city.

How do i get two separate instances?

I don't know how to make it remember that you have two seperate cities on startup, but I can still think of a way to get what you are looking for. It involves a little "cheating" but it's all I can think of.

Make a copy of Lucid Weather.ini and call it something else (Lucid Weather 2.ini for this example). Open it up and make sure that you change the name= value to Lucid Weather 2 as well. Now when you go to add SysStats widgets you'll see Lucid Weather and Lucid Weather 2. Make one of those one city and another the other. That should solve the problem. Let me know if you try this and it works.

Yes! I just tried this and it works perfectly! Thank you very much! This is awesome.

Okay, I just had to restart my computer (I always hibernate), and all my other AveDesk desklets showed up, except this one. I had to go to the control panel, and restart it. Is there a fix for this?

Edit: Nevermind- I got it figured out!

    • The limited imaginations and business acumen of non-dominant players is simply that: the abject lack of creative business acumen. Businesses often want to operate in a financially-rewarding marketplace (free market economics) and/or exit/cash-out at maximal financial recompense. Money is their incentive; regulations are both their obstacles and their tools; politics is their means of influencing the marketplace. Google, in this story's example, is crying that AWS and Azure are "too dominant" -- cuz Google Cloud is not printing as much money as Alphabet wants (although it is still dramatically more than they actually need). The EU DMA should truly follow-the-money and treat the EU as its own sovereign nation in order to protect European market players: Domestic entities are exempt from market-influence regulations until absolute monopoly is achieved; Foreign (non-EU/non-Euro) entities are all regulated via stricter DMA measures whereby regulated partnership with independent domestic entity becomes the only way for foreign entities to 'tip the scale' for favorable financial remunerations. Basically create a dual-track aligning with China's foreign investment models. In my eyes, this is the only way to properly protect the European marketplace beyond the current dot-com/ai-bubble/social-media crazes.

    • Hello, Interesting. I suspect memory and storage costs have slowed the rollout of Windows 11-compatible hardware for some customers. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
