cingular Sim chip question

i just finished my contract with my razr and now i want to switch it to prepaid. is that possible? because i heard my buddy say that only razr's with a special Prepaid BIOS will only work with the prepaid plan. thanks

I highly doubt this, but the best option would to be to call Cingular

Yes you can do it, just cancel the one you have, get a pre paid and switch the sim card. Simple :)

It may be possible to do it yourself depending if the v3's are as easy to flash as some of the other v series.

if i remember rightly you needed a usb cable and then there was somewhere you could download the software (although i doubt id be allowed to post a link even if i could still find it)

Last time I checked Cingular uses Sim Card... if it uses Sim Card you just simply switch it. Why make it complicated for the guy when all you have to do is switch it?

he might have to get the phone unlocked, some operators lock the phone to only work with their sims

what do you mean by "prepaid"? Do you mean you're going to keep cingular as your provider but just want to get one of their prepaid plans? Or do you mean you want to go with another provider as a prepaid plan? Answer this and then we can tell you.
