I have a client that has the folder tasks sidebar permanently stuck on the left side of the desktop. It functions normally, for example, you can "make a new folder", "share this folder". Regardless, it is taking up space and is not wanted.

The obvious thing would be to click the Folder Tasks icon in the control panel but it does not open from there.

If you open up a folder and THEN Tools---Folder Options---General I can tell it to use windows classic folders. The problem at that point is that it removes the folder tasks everywhere (like it should) EXCEPT for the desktop.

any ideas?

I am sure it is from a malicious site, the guy claims he got it from myspace.com. It did have virus's and some malware. NOD cleaned the infected files and i was able to remove all detectable junk with Spybot/Ad-Aware/MS Antispyware.

    • Denmark, and perhaps the rest of NATO, should not trust TRUMP [and JD Vance in the unlikely event he becomes President in 2028]. As for trusting Microsoft, that is "at your own risk," especially in view of the change in their corporate philosophy and Operating Systems since Windows-7.
