Recommended Posts

Hello to all NFS fanatics :D

Are u ready for the upcoming WCG 2006 ? :) Here, I want to share my car tuning and my WCG 2006 Lap records. Please feel free to share with me. :) I'm using Lotus Elise without 'Junkman' performance parts and N20. These r my settings. :)

1) +3

2) +2

3) +3

4)-3

5)+2

6) 0

7)+5

Heritage Height : 1:17 [best Lap Time]........ 1:24 [1st Lap] Not good. :)

U have to use Lotus Elise. Can do better than this ? :D

I don't get the point of this as everyone will have different racing styles, and therefore different settings...

The idea is to build the car to fit your driving. Some like cars tight some like cars loose. I have mine more on the loose side, And to have a car more loose or more tight we have to drop the engines performance a bit so we don't lose traction speed when the engine super rev's after we leave a sharp curve of intersection.

Lots of people seem to think cars should be all pumped up with every max-performance part to make the fastest car. Sure it is fast. Like the Porsche Carrera GT after it loses control it would just sit there spinning its tires, engine is screaming with power and going no wheres as we all pass it with our bazoo's lol

NFSMW is not just a car game that we build it - race it cars like other Race games. There is a logic in what parts to uses.

Example: I bet 99% of the people will put 20 inch tires on a Renault Clio. Well this is not logical. The car will take 3 KM to get to top speed. Now try and put 18 inch tires and see what happens. You will see the difference.

'NFSMechMan' u do have some good pionts. :) thxz for u'r comments. Can u find out the best settings for the WCG 2006 tracks ? Heritage Height, Dunwich Bay, Diamond, East Park and Bay Bridge using Lotus. :) One of my frined's buddy did 1:11 on HH but i did 1:16 with my settings. :(

What about other parts like the spoilers, hoods, roof scopes? Does carbon fibre affect the performance of the car or are they just for display?

One of my frined's buddy did 1:11 on HH

Wow. Did he use all ultimate performance parts or? I could only do 1:17. Wanna race?

Ok, I have been driving with the Elise for a few hours, and have just started to learn the WCG tracks, as I only got game 2 weeks ago, and completed career this week.

I need help with tuning tricks also ;) But I think I need to get used to this car also....

Atm, after playing around a little bit on Bay Bridge, I am just breaking into 1:12.xx

I got tuning like this atm, but I am NOOB still... I know I can take better lines/braking to get a better time, as I've only pracced for a bit.

Performance -> Max (no junkman), Spoiler, (do any of the "Parts" affect performance other than spoiler?) I couldn't tell with small rims...

Steering: -4

Handling: +2

Braking: +5

Ride Height: +5

Aerodynamics: +5

Nitrous: 0

Turbo: +5

I think steering is like sensitivity?

Handling is like grip?

Braking is left=rear right=front?

What is Ride Height doing other than whether I bottom out on jumps or not?

Aerodynamic are doing ?

Nitrous isn't needed for WCG.

I think Turbo is how low the revs are when it cuts in vs how much power it gives?

If anyone knows how these settings work/affect driving in the game please post!

Cheers !

See that's what I'd love to have. An online PC / Console game, where people can tune their cars in anyway possible (realistically), where if your cars suspension is to low, and you go over a bump / hill to fast it damages the under carriage therefore decreasing performance if not totalling you're car.

I'd pay **** loads for such a realistic racing game ;_;.

I've once played NFS:MW on and off - but is it really that good?

Thx 'The One' :) , I changed things a bit and got down to 1:11.xx, but If I take the sharp 90? right better and get through the last hairpin after the jump cleanly @ about 140 km/hr, I should drop this to 1:10 easy

Atm I am like this for Bay Bridge: 1:11.xx with not so good driving lines.

Steering: -1

Handling: +2

Braking: 0

Ride Height: +5

Aerodynamics: +5

Nitrous: 0

Turbo: +5

I am still not sure about braking, I get similar with it -5, 0 or +5.

Also, In NFSU2, to get World Records in streetX, I used NO wide body kit, because it made my car narrower, with the same handling, so I could get closer to walls, and "fit through" easier. As far as I can tell so far, the same thing applies in MW. See what you think? Though you need a spoiler on to get the Aerodynamics options.

Tuning seems weird, like surely in real life, if you have a Body Kit and a Spoiler, this would be different to just a Body Kit, or just a Spoiler, but in game it seems as long as you have one or the other or both you get "the tuning option".

I will try yur settings for Diamond 'n see how I go. :))

'The One', I can't drive with yur settings ;)

My time atm for HH is BAD, tho I just started praccing it.

Do you go right or left where the road 1st parts, after the tollbooth? I have been going right. Maybe I should go left then cross over to the right?

Also, near the BurgerKing, where road goes left, I have been going on the far right, but I am not doing it well :p. maybe I should go underneath thru the middle?

So nice to find someone sharing info (Y)

I might try the EVO :D

Hmm how do you guys test the cars on the tracks? o_O I'm able to change performance of the car in the pause menu, but I don't know how to get to the race tracks / circuits?

ok, from the "main menu", where it has Career, Challenge Series, Quick Race, My Cars, LAN Play, Online, etc, Set a car up in "My Cars" with no Junkman parts, escape back to Main Menu, then go to "Quick Race", then right one to "Custom Race", then "Circuit", then pick track by going right or left ( make sure it says "All Reigons" at the bottom, or else click the arrows to show all the tracks), then set 5 laps, no traffic, 1 opponent, etc.., then pick the car you have tuned to WCG rules, and go test it.

A better way, but you need 2 PCs on a lan setup to do it, is to have one PC set up to host a lan server with WCG rules (no collision, no NO2, no traffic, etc), and then join that from yur other PC, this way you have no collision on, and can get used to the feel of a lan, and can't use any NO2, even if you wanted too ;)

You can tune the car from pause menu and then start again to try new tuning out.

I hope you understand. :)

Currently on HH my fastest lap:

1:14.32

Gaah thats frutsrating!! :p

My current tuning is:

+5

+1

+2

-4

-2

+4

+3

As for the first fork, I go left, and then cross to the right :). I also try to go through the right side passage at the bridge instead of dipping down and back up.

Ian.

Thanks for explaining how to do it ; )

1:14 is "decent" man :D . I gather you realize No Nitrous and No Junkman parts for WCG? Also no Porsche GT and no BMW M3.

+5 stering is like, OMG, maybe cus I use a Joystick I need lower steering ? If I use +5 with Lotus, tiniest twitch and I do a 90 degree turn :p

And yur welcome.

Hope I get some time to prac today.

    • (Topic to get the juices flowing this Sunday morning!...) Actually, the situation has almost nothing to do with "lack of skills", especially since assembly-line skills can be taught to anyone, including Americans, certainly. Rather, the inadequacy-to-impossibility of large-scale tech manufacturing in America today, and the reasons why America finds tech manufacturing completely onerous in the 21st century, has to do with politically driven laws amid a plethora of non-scientific, utterly politicized "science-fact" that is patently false, punitive business taxation at every turn, an array of judicial fines of unimaginable scope and complexity, and, last but not least, American unionization strictures that serve to actually slay job creation and hobble all such manufacturing endeavors in America before they can get off the ground. Globalism emerged, they tell us, as the needed answer to American hubris and an unholy American drive to excel. Unless one is buried under mounds of political propaganda, it's easy to see the absurdity of labeling the employees of SpaceX, for instance, as "unskilled labor"... Etc. ad infinitum. At one time in the recent past, American manufacturing prowess was the envy of the world in a wide variety of technical fields! The current federal and state government roadblocks against America becoming competitive globally in tech manufacturing are considerable, it's true, as anyone with a working brain knows. But remarkably, that is only half the story! The other half of the story is, of course, the corporations themselves... Chinese tech manufacturing is simply unassailable in terms of profits, because the Chinese government wants to see its tech manufacturing second-to-none globally so that no companies/nations can compete in terms of ROI, and China has completely succeeded in that goal. Let's tic-off a few things: *Chinese tariff policies are set according to what is considered best for Chinese business, Chinese employees, and the Chinese people. Huge difference with how things are done with tariffs in the US--as the US government (SCOTUS in this case, Congress in others) plainly feels that tariffs are "unfair" for the limited number of citizens who may pay them, whereas nothing is "unfair" when Congress considers the Personal Income Tax rates to be infinitely hike-able, along with infinitely enlarging annual budget deficits. *The Chinese government boldly subsidizes Chinese companies to artificially amplify their profits. *The Chinese government deliberately refuses to avidly demonize Chinese businesses and does not consider Chinese businesses "the enemy", so very unlike American (D)s these days. *Chinese labor laws and businesses are allowed to set their own labor policies according to what Chinese companies consider is best for companies and their employees... Simply put, American workers in tech manufacturing are not allowed to set their own labor policies! It is the height of hypocrisy for Americans to decry working conditions in China while simultaneously ensuring that American products are manufactured in China, not in the US, simply to maximize profits. There is nothing wrong with making a profit, of course, absolutely nothing. But there is plenty wrong with attempts to normalize hypocrisy of this kind! But rank hypocrisy and the (D) party in the US are longtime bedfellows... The current government in Washington is working overtime to see if it can toss out the horribly poor, failed economic policies of the past, while the (D)s still in Washington work very hard to bring back the stupidity whenever possible. With the right policies in place, America can be an infinitely competitive manufacturer.
