Kerio Personal Firewall.

It's the least bloated firewall I ever used.

If someone can name another firewall that's less bloated, NAME IT!

www.jetico.com

Kerio installer is 5.11MB, I wouldn't call that very minimal. I'm sure Jetico isn't the smallest either, but the installer is half the size of Kerio.

Kerio is a great firewall, but it's not the least bloated by any means.

kerio/tiny 2.x is the less bloated firewall i know, yes the newer versions of kerio and tiny firewall are bloated to hell, the 2.x version does what a firewall is meant to and that is stop connections that you tell it and not filter any adverts etc from http traffic or try and guess what rules you want etc

just tried jetico and it seems bloated to me, why is a firewall checking for suspicious process activity? why is it warning me about what the ati config utility is doing? that is not what a firewall should be doing!

I've been using ZoneAlarm but lately it's been acting strange...blocking my entrie computer from accessing the internet. Once I shut down ZoneAlarm (and yes start the Windows Firewall), the computer suddenly have internet access and no it's not the Internet Lock thingy that's in ZoneAlarm.

I am now trying out Kerio.

Hey guys I am currently using the Windows Firewall, was using ZoneAlarm but I would like a better firewall that does not use alot of computer resources because I am a gamer and a graphic designer so I need all the RAM/CPU power I can get. Thanks in advance and hopefully I can get a good one running. :)

buh buh buh resources buh buh buh firewall

If you want one that's good as Zonealarm then you should get Kerio. If you don't mind losing some firewall functionality (program control, filtering, etc.) then you should invest in a hardware firewall (and by hardware firewall I do not mean a router's firewall).

nolimit05, if you're behind a router, then Windows Firewall is sufficient enough as long as your PC is not directly connected to the Modem. The router does actually act as a hardware firewall and blocks off a lot of traffic. A lot of people just use Windows Firewall if they behind a router, that's what I'm doing. All I have is an Anti-Virus installed and so far no problems, no viruses, worms, nothing.

...but as I have a hardware firewall now I just run Windows Firewall with my router.

Same here :)

Ok well I am actually behind a firewall so I guess I am good :) I am running the AVG Pro Anti-Virus so I guess it will do thanks :D

ermm...who's the gorgeous babe from your sig?...

Hardware man, it's just nonsense to choose anything else unless you just can't get a hardware firewall. Software firewalls are limited by the security of the OS they run on.

However, obviously by the poll not everyone believes this, which is fine by me. It's your security and your choice.
