Zone Alarm has got to be one of if not the best out there. I have had pro for three years and have never had a security breach. They recently even integrated spyware detection. And anti-virus subscription monitoring.

In addition Zone Alarm has continually been rated #1 by some of the most respected reviewers out there.

Actually, if you're using P2P, hardware firewall does crap (if you're using port forwarding/ virtual server) because you're leaving ports open without security. If you're not doing P2P. . hardware firewall is fine .. with Windows Firewall

But you gotta be careful with keyloggers and viruses etc (that means you gotta have an antivirus)

After trying everything listed in the first box apart from Jetico, I've settled on a router which blocks the majority of attacks from the outside, and Zone Alarm to stop programs 'phoning home'.

kerio 2.1.5 released in 2002! So more than 4 years now with the same firewall. Nothing I've tried came near

for those that say Kerio, is anyone using the 4.x Sunbelt branded one? or the old 2.1.5?

I am using the 4.2.2 one, still branded Kerio. No reference to Sunbelt whatsoever. Although I am looking at switching to Kerio WinRoute Firewall, but it seems like it's just going to be too bloated.

I'm using the sunbelt branded one (downloaded it when i formatted my comp) It's still a great firewall, but a little buggy on my PC, but nothing major.

i just switched from using zone alarm for the past 2 years, to lavasoft past year, and now kerio 215. very small app, and easy to use. A+

i didnt think that kerio 215 was supported any longer i use to love that firewall but stopped using it after i was told its no longer supported
