Photoshop Styles

I would like this to be the beginning of an excellent thread displaying or directing people to photoshop styles. Maybe someone can host them for all to download.

If you do not know what a style is, it is a sequence of layers that have been set up perfectly for an effect. You would basically make your shape or text and then select the style. It would then change into the effect that you pic.

I will start with the glass effect by "simple by designs" I am linking to there page so people can download the movie and learn how to install and start with this simple style.

Please post styles or the links to them. I am looking for high quality ones like the one above. Yes i have done many google searches and the like, but i like to think that neowin is above simple letter styles. Lets see some awesome styles!

I don't know how many people like to use styles, I prefer to use blending options rather than styles.

I suggest a thread for excellent photoshop brushes would be better.

essentially styles are blending options that have already been premade and saved to save time. I have no problem using them and then tweaking them to my liking. Can be a big time saver.

Cool idea. I personally use styles a lot, especially when I do my homework projects in photoshop and all the text layers need the same look, just highlight, press on button and BAM, all done, only have to make it once. It's also very helpful when I do my website.

I am not to fond of having to download a video, unzip it and then watch it just to learn how to do that, screenshots/text is much easier.

Shame that semi-transparency can't be used. Gonna have to make a new account for neowin so the edges fade properly.

I will definitely contribute to this thread when I get a bit of free time. I can also host the styles that are contributed permanently. Styles are one of the best things ever to happen to photoshop...this thread will be a great asset once it is developed.

Whadda mean the semi-transparency can't be used?

On the final image, on my perticular image had blackness whereever the semi-transparency is used, IE the drop shaddow. So I've had to fade it to white without semi-transparency. The problem i've noticed here in neowin is that the posts alternate background colour slightly. (White-light grey).

I'm using CSX, so if you're thinking of a different service where semi-transparency can be used then do tell!
