Germans could not win against Argentina. (could at the penalties, but not during the gameplay)

And if you think that with this kind of game you can beat BR, germans must be dreaming.

that is if brasil will get to finals :p

if germany would play like they played in the second half then brasil wont stand a chance :)

okay... here's the deal... for someone who loves soccer from the other side of the ocean... (Quebec, Canada), I was hoping for Germany to win. But that was before the game...

It is clear to me, and I have seen a lot of referree in my life in different sport, to tell that this game was WITHOUT a doubt favored and pushed by the referee towards Germany.

A good exemple that change the game completely was at the 79' minutes if I remember right... an argentinian player was near the German corner line when a German player made him trip. It is CLEAR on the video replay that he made him trip... guess what, the Argentinian player got the yellow card.

This game was in my neutral mind (I have no connection with any of these two country whatsoever and was actually for Germany at the start of the game) complete bull****.

It is evident that the referee are helping with all their might to push Germany to the final. Well, basically it is done now. For me, on paper, Italy as no chance of beating Germany in semi-final, so basically they are qualified for the final. I really hope this kind of "arbitrage" won't happen again.

I am, personnally ashame today of what happen from the officials. Also, I am a person who is trying to publicise this game here in Quebec, but even to total neophyte like my friends who were watching the game today, they also saw the game and video replay which clearly show the "game" that the referee were playing.

my 2 cents

It was not a fantastic game, but it had it's moments. Congratulations to Germany on the pen's though. It is natural for England fan's to hate both Germany and Argentina due to history, shame the both could not lose :p.

Anyone got a video of that "fight" (or whatever happened), as ITV sort of didnt show it...

1-0

Goodbye Germany

Brazil x Portugal

Italy x Argentina

FINAL

Brazil x Argentina

Europeans out on the way...

Well that just went out the window didnt it ?

I agree with you, and I'm glad this comes from someone who had no prior sympathy for any team.

Here we noticed that some things that could be fouls against argentina players were NOT replayed. Not only the ref was favouring germany there, but the viewers did not get the chance to see several replays of doubious plays. I feel ripped off.

Argentina, however, didn't loose against germany. After those additional 30 minutes, I didnt care who won, it was a lottery!

I dont see Germany in the final neither.

But dont worry....we will make your pain very short.

Just like in 2002.

:woot:

Psh--you're too critical. What do you want me to say? Props to Germany for sticking through with that last 10-minute goal? :shiftyninja:

There are quite a few ways you can say it, one being, Props to Germany for sticking through with that late goal ;)

Ok Sorry.. but common say Germany will win because a BORING penalty decision can be only a England frustrated fans reaction.

No... It just means that we want Germany to win against Argentina? Just like I will be rooting for France to beat Brazil. Does that mean that I'm a fustrated English fan? Probably does judging by what you're posting.

Also that game might have been boring for you. But I'd like to think that game was extremely nerve racking for both Germany and Argentinan fans alike.

I must agree. I know I was dying of nervousness in the Portugal - Netherlands game
