Neowin's Official World Cup 2006 Thread

I am not a huge fan of football but I love world cups. I love the quality of the football played. I swear I am so ****ed of with England. These players get millions in salaries and yet they failed on penalties. Bunch of whips and ****ing ######

You can see in their eyes that they weren't confidant. As a England support and a football supporter, it hurts to see the quality of skills shown at penalties. Ricardo stopped three boy England goal keeper never came close.

I guess it's about time enough is enough England has to improve skill wise...

Crouch didn't do a **** and boy I hate the media the way they make this players double good once they score....

Well done Portugal! Only a few theatrics this game. Rooney needs to grow up and remember a headbutt is a yellow, pushing the red. Good call ref as he hasnt been booked all tournament. I am still proud of their efforts, holding Portugal with 10 men on the field. So many chances to bury it, as well as at least 3 handballs, 1 which was in the Portuguese penalty area!

Either way I would like to congratulate Portugal on the win, and thank them for colonizing Brazil. You couldn't beat a mediocre team who was giving you the ball every chance with 10 men, have fun.

Now to cheer for ze Germans! Hell has frozen over.

GO PORTUGAL!!!

It was a very balanced game. But in the end, Ricardo pulled it off, just like he did two years ago!! The man of the match!!

Now, for NEOWIN: please, remove that banner!! Or you will be obliged, BY LAW :D , to put one supporting PORTUGAL!!

But this victory tastes even better because of all the english press! I hate those guys!!! IN YOUR FACE!!!!

@ the ppl saying that the ref was biased ... why he was biased?? And don't bring the " 'cos he is from Argentina" ****... Rooney red card was OK, and there wasn't any penalty (see the replay again if you have any doubts).

Still, the ref did a good job in a match where the Portuguese did their best : diving and acting.

England deserved to win, but Portugal won. It's penalties people. An unfair way of finishing a game, but that's what FIFA decides.

PORTUGAL AL? PORTUGAL AL? PORTUGAL AL????!!!:D33; :D

Sorry England... the game was very tactical both teams didn't want to take any chances, in the end the penalty shootout was justified but we have a giant defending the net!Ricardo your a GOD!3:yes:

Only 2 more "steps" to go! FOR?A POR:jump: ::jump: ::jump: :jump:

Crouch, what the hell was he doing ? If i counted right he fell down 15 times. Did'nt they have a better bench player ?

Man i know, i was screaming at the TV like What the hell are you doing crouch!?

yea i noticed that too, the great ugly giant coudlnt' control his 6 foot long legs.

I must be the only one who actually thought Crouch worked very hard for the team. He showed great foot work and technique when he first come on the pitch. Does anyone realise how hard it can be to play up front on your own? I think he did just as good, if not better than Rooney.

I bet no one agree's with me though :/

No, I do agree with you. Rooney did an immature error (he's 21) that basically cost England the game. Crouch came in and actually scared the crap out of me in a few plays. He did as much as Pauleta did, which was about nothing because playing with 1 forward = no success, hence the 0-0 score.
