Hi all,

Well, I was waiting for the man himself to post the release news here, but I think I'll take the reigns on this one...

A few weeks ago, DanilloOc (of iFlex fame) released a screenshot of his new WB, aerial. I've literally been refreshing his DA page ever since then. Today, he released it, and believe me - it's beautiful... the attention to detail, the smoothness, the widgets, the little touches, the distinct lack of aero-ness - I'm in love! Get it at DeviantArt or WinCustomize

The only bad thing I would say about this is that on the full start menu the text colour for the right hand links is a little dark, other than that it's excellent.

My bad, I just rebooted and now the text is white

Edited by alex.

I found a colour scheme for winamp modern..wich fits nicely :)

FathomWA.png

To install, open x:\program files\winamp\skins\winamp modern\xml\color-presets.xml

And put this code somewhere..doesn't realy matter where :)

Simplicity with the 'Black::GrayBG::White' colour scheme is also a nice fit...

@Alex - I was about to say - then I saw your edit, that the colours on my full start menu are cool...

Has anyone tried to recolour the skin yet?

I'd also like to point out, that this is one of those very rare dark skins which doesnt ruin firefoxes tabs readability.

/me lubs

  • 2 weeks later...

BTW, how do I get rid of this annoying line? (see pic)

I already turned off shadow on menu's, but the menu edge does not adapt to the new background.

Hmmm... I dont have that problem... I know it's lame, but a reboot might help.

Also, what does the 'System Information' option say in your WB Configuration window?

Looks alright:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

You have one monitor in total.

(Default Monitor) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Wbsrv.dll 2005/12/20 22:57:44

Wbload.exe 2005/12/21 00:04:40

Wbui.dll 2005/12/06 21:29:06

Tray.dll 2005/11/02 13:28:26

Reboot does not fix it though.

Hmmm... did you get the absolute latest version off DA? He has updated it... the only other thing I can think of, if this doesnt work, is to request help from the author.

Did mail him. He did give some tips but suggested to contact Stardock, tips did not work. Maybe it's my graphicscard (GF5200) that doesn't want to....

I downloaded yesterday from DA, should be the latest...

    • Vivaldi 8.0.4033.46 by Razvan Serea Vivaldi is a cross-platform web browser built for – and with – the web. A browser based on the Blink engine (same in Chrome and Chromium) that is fast, but also a browser that is rich in functionality, highly flexible and puts the user first. A browser that is made for you. Vivaldi is produced with love by a founding team of browser pioneers, including former CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, who co-founded and led Opera Software. Vivaldi’s interface is very customizable. Vivaldi combines simplicity and fashion to create a basic, highly customizable interface that provides everything a internet user could need. The browser allows users to customize the appearance of UI elements such as background color, overall theme, address bar and tab positioning, and start pages. Vivaldi features the ability to "stack" and "tile" tabs, annotate web pages, add notes to bookmarks and much more. Vivaldi 8.0.4033.46 fixes: [Chromium] Update to 148.0.7778.263 ESR (includes security fixes from 149.0.7827.102/103) Download: Vivaldi 64-bit | 139.0 MB (Freeware) Download: Vivaldi 32-bit | ARM64 View: Vivaldi Home Page | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • I'm surprised they haven't found a way to fix that. As much as I don't like software wasting memory, a file manager is the kind of thing that makes sense to keep running in active memory for super-fast recall. I suspect that is why MS makes their File Explorer part of the main explorer.exe shell, so that it is guaranteed to always be running.
    • Seriously 1.8gig....so what. Any computer, if you are going to do serious work on, in 2026 should have a mimimum of 16gig and I would say 32-64gig is the way to go.
    • So again, you'd consider "I'm happy with my LG TV" to be a valid response to an article about PlayStation? I get the "I don't like any of their products" but how does that in any way invoke Linux? It just feels very random.
