Recommended Posts

A new update is now finally available, it includes a lot of new and needed features imo.

CHANGELOG:

Japan/Asia-Pacific/Europe: Download

NEW FEATURE ENABLED:

* Playing back with AAC format* is available without any format change. Therefore, AAC format files in SonicStage CP can be transferred without converting them to ATRAC format.

*Note:

i. Sampling frequency: 11.025/12/16/22.05/24/32/44.1/48kHz

ii. Supported bit rates: 16 - 320 kbps, VBR (Variable Bit Rate).

iii. Copyright protected AAC files cannot be played back. In addition, it is not guaranteed that all of AAC files can be played back even if the above conditions are met.

* The Artist Link Shuffle mode is added to the Intelligent Shuffle.

* The clock display and calendar display functions are added. If CONNECT Player or SonicStage CP is used, the unit clock synchronizes to the computer when the Network Walkman is connected to the software.

* The screen saver is selectable.

* Group +/- can be operated using the compatible stick controller (RM-MC35ELK). Playback can be adjusted to the beginning of the first track in the previous or next group from the current group, regardless of the starting position or the playmode.

It is also possible to move to the first track of the group in Playlist, Bookmark, Trash Bin and Favorite 100.

IMPROVEMENTS

* The sorting order is based on the album track number rather than alphabetical order when Artist ALL is selected from the Artist tree of the List search.

* The animation design which appears while the HDD is accessed is changed.

* The resume track information reset is prohibited with the recharge operation.

SonicStage CP 4.0 has finally arrived! As mentioned in our previous report, the new SonicStage CP 4.0 includes full support for features exclusive to the WALKMAN A Series. Therefore, we were hoping Sony will finally make SonicStage a fully unicode software since it’s been tweaked to support the WALKMAN A Series. Unfortunately, unicode support has yet to be implemented with this update. On the bright side, it is already apparent that there is a substantial increase in the navigational speed, especially in previously laggy areas such as ‘My Library’. Accordingly, SonicStage CP 4.0 now supports the following WALKMAN devices:

* Hi-MD Walkman

* Net MD Walkman

* NW-E series

* NW-A series

* NW-HD series

* NW-M S Series

* ATRAC CD Walkman

NEW FEATURES/IMPROVEMENTS:

* Support for the Walkman A series.

* Recording and playback support for AAC format – encode and transfer 3GP/MP4/M4A at 80-320kbps.

* AAC tunes in SonicStage CP can be transferred directly to the NW-A3000/A1200/A1000 without converting them to ATRAC format.

Note:

a. Firmware version 3.0 is required for this feature. –> click here for more details

b. Copyright protected AAC files cannot be played back

* Artist Link function is now available on SonicStage CP 4.0.

* Full support of Intelligent features exclusive to the Walkman A series.

* Selectable background image.

    • But we are talking about Elon Musk, no AT&T... I know big companies are evil, but Elon and his companies are in another level which is much more dangerous.
    • New PowerToys update fixes memory leaks and other issues by Taras Buria Another bug-fixing update is available for PowerToys version 0.100. After releasing version 0.100.1 with a bunch of bug fixes and patches, Microsoft pushed version 0.100.2 to address two important issues with one of Command Palette Dock's features. With PowerToys 0.100.2, Microsoft fixed the performance meter displaying incorrect values and memory leaks, which are particularly unwanted things in the current situation with overpriced PC hardware. Here is the changelog: Reverted a Performance Monitor dock refresh change that forced item refreshes on every metric update Fixed a memory leak in the Performance Monitor dock extension by reusing stable network upload/download band items instead of creating new list items on each refresh For those unfamiliar, Command Palette Dock is a relatively new addition to PowerToys. It is a taskbar-like tool that you can keep on top of the screen to pin various useful widgets, commands, and more. It can display time, weather, your PC's performance metrics, and more. Microsoft introduced the Command Palette Dock in March 2026 in PowerToys 0.98. Microsoft has dedicated documentation for Command Palette Dock, and you can check it out on the official Microsoft Learn website. You can update PowerToys to the latest version by going to Settings > General and clicking "Check for updates." Alternatively, you can download the installer from GitHub using this link. In other news, Microsoft is working on a new window-management utility for PowerToys. Called Alt Window Cycle, it will let you use the Alt + ` shortcut to switch between different windows in a single app. You can learn more about the tool here.
    • You did take leaf out of Trumps book already and had brexit - only to harm yourself. The same goes with this AI nonsense. The obvious solution for these companies is to move their head office to Brussels. I can see quite much irony there... 🙂
    • Thank gawd AT&T never worked with the US gov....
    • Wonder if they are trying to slow down Linux traction (not saying this is the only factor) in the consumer space. With the most pressure probably being steam deck/box, etc.
