What is it?

AutoPatcher QMUP (Quick Monthly Update Packs, pronounced as "queue 'em up") fills in the gap between AutoPatcher and Windows Update. QMUP releases are really what the name suggests.

- Quick

Being based on a lightweight version of AutoPatcher, it loads in no time. And since it only includes one month worth of (critical) updates, it's a quick way of getting your monthly dose of patches. :p

- Monthly

QMUP releases will only include the month's critical updates. In contrast to current AutoPatcher releases, QMUP is not cumulative, meaning each QMUP release will provide patches for one month only. Example: If you're system was last updated on April, you would need May and June QMUP releases, preferably installed in order (forming a queue -- how was QMUP pronounced again?).

- Update

QMUP will only include critical updates. No add-ons (windows media player or the like), no 3rd-party apps, no registry tweaks.

- Pack

QMUP will combine all of the month's patches into one file. You get that file and you're good to go for that month, installing it on as many computers as you like (remember, portable!).

What's the difference between QMUP and the current Update releases?

Basically, the current update releases require a previous AutoPatcher Full/Lite (last month's). QMUPs can work on their own. This means that you don't have to install it over a previous AutoPatcher and then re-run it just to install the new updates.

By the way, the numbers you see in the screenies are just fictional... for testing... They are not 37 real june 2006 patches :p

Please comment :)

Will there be an option to select which updates to install?? (is WGA a critical update and do we get a choice?)

QMUPs will not offer selection, for the sake of being easy. Since it just packs critical updates it would be of little use anyway. If, however, people still want that feature for the QMUPs, I'll do my best to squeeze it in (maybe as "advanced" mode or something).

WGA-related stuff are not considered to be critical, therefore not included (actually, it's not even in the Full AutoPatcher).

So I guess the answer is "no" to both questions.

Hi Guys,

Far be it from me to criticize however if you have time to "spare" for work on a new version of AP, then could we not see some further beta's of AP 6.x?

I believe that some folks (such as myself) have been waiting to see what this new version might offer, especially extending AP into area such as Office updates and similar.

Is AP v6 still in development or has it been delayed / postponed or cancelled?

Kind Regards

Simon

v6 It's still more or less under developement. Actually QMUP uses the v6 engine :)

What v6 needs right now:

1. Logging

2. Mouse wheel support in the main selection list. This one is going to be a hard one to do...

3. General perfomance tweaks...

@robin145, if youve previously used autopatcher or another method to update your computer, you can use this to quickly install the june updates. it is an alternative to keeping a full copy of autopatcher and updating it with update releases. these are standalone products containing one monthly updates.

This is cool!!!! but I found there is only AutoPatcher XP June, what about May???? Or it includes ??????

No, a QMUP release can be thought of as a stand-alone autopatcher for just one month's critical updates. With that said, the June QMUP doesn't include May patches.

QMUPs as an idea is about 4 days old, so we worked to make June packs.

Ok releases for XP, 2003 and 2000 are available for download now...

Please install and feedback any issues.

Does this include feedback on your download mirror? I got hammered with pop-ups and pop-unders from the following adservers:

popunder.adsrevenue.net

ads.clicksor.com

I had previously disabled my pop-up blocker because it was interfering with some legitimate pop-ups on some websites (viewing product images on the website of a computer component manufacturer), and forgot to enable it again.

When I clicked on your link, I nearly had to perform a three finger salute to stop the furious non-stop barrage of pop-ups.

    • Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.
    • Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.

Later today, Geoff Keighley will be bringing the 2026 edition of Summer Game Fest live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the Summer Game Fest showcase livestream will be kicking off at 2 PM PT | 5 PM ET | 10 PM BST later today, June 5. The jam-packed show is slated to run for about two hours, with platforms like YouTube (4K at 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, or X being available for catching it. Like in previous years, separate streams featuring American Sign Language and Descriptive Audio are available on YouTube as well. Keighley has only dropped a few teasers about what gaming fans can expect to see at the show. This includes a new look at Star Wars Zero Company from EA, a major announcement from Guild Wars developer ArenaNet, more Clutch gameplay, and some sort of Sega presence. As for fan expectations, there is hype building about a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 reveal here, and we might see new details about announced games like Alien Isolation 2 as well. If you want even more games, keep in mind that right after the main kickoff event, the Day of the Devs showcase will begin its own festivities at 4 pm PT | 7 pm ET. This is focused entirely on upcoming indie games. Following this, the next major games showcase is slated to happen on June 7. Here, Microsoft is bringing the big guns with its Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War E-Day Direct. Check out the full calendar for all of the June events over here.
