Looking for Custom Shell32.dll

Hi guys!

I try to customize my own shell32,but I have no success with my work.Two times when

I modify and replace shell32 windows don't start anymore,so I must ask for your help :shifty:

I read here about your's modifyed shell's,so I like to ask you if you can share your work with me :blush: ?

I need shell's32 for xp sp2 for my Unattended CD .

Here are "Bricopacks", they only add ressources (Avi/Icon/BMP) to your own files ...

(even when it works without problems in 99%, like always, make a backup before)

how did you do it? did you use reshacker? were you editing the right version?

Just to let you know, there have been many updated shell32 files released since SP2 was released. So you need to post the build number of your shell32. You also did not say in what way you customized your shell32. Did you try to change icons, bitmaps etc.?

Thx for your reply!My version shell32 is 6.00.2900.2690 and I find this original vista icons:

then I'am convert it with IconWorkshop to windows xp format and use reshacker to replace it.Also I try to modify avi with posted here,but I can't replace it with reshacker.When I'am apply the new setiings and replace the shell windows don't boot anymore,so I'am just give up,becouse I really don't know where I'am fail :blush:

I know that some of you can do easy to modify shell32 even with script for reshacker,so I look for shell32 which one is already made with icons and avi.

I just not have time anymore to start this again :no: If anyone have modified shell32 and he can upload it to some site like rapidshare will help me a lot :D

You can`t replace a shell32.dll from an other language - when I

will send you a german shell32.dll in vista-outfit you will have

german dialogs ...

Or do you wanna use the icons/bmps/avis from this shell32.dll

to import in your own ?

Yeah,this is what I need :),but I must say that I'am really newbei at this stuff. :rolleyes: I know that reshacker is a powerfull tool if you know how to use it.I know also that you can made a script cmd file to replace all ressource at once,but that it all what I know,so if you be so cind and post already modified shell32 english version ready to replace it and put it on my Unattended CD.I know this way shell32 will work fine,becouse I'am find some other forum where you help the people like me too.

Here it what to do when you change the avis:

Copy Shell32.dll (in Win/System32) to your desktop - run Reshacker and open shell32.dll

In the AVI subfolder, find one of the AVIs you want. Open it in ResHacker (make sure you're not trying to directly edit the one in system32 - Make a copy, and place it on your desktop and edit that one) then go to the same AVI, 160 or whatever.

Right click it, choose "Replace Resource" and then click the "Open file with new resource..." button, Find the AVI file, Then in Resource Type box put AVI, Under name put the number you're replacing, like 160 or whatever, Then under Language, if you have are using English, type 1033.

Once you've replaced all the AVIs you want. Save it, then replace the old system32 the same way you did before

You can change BMP`s, Icon-(groups) and avis this way too,

if you have any problems, let us know ...
