Probably on the top 5 movies of the 90's, Jurassic Park was film adaptation of a book by Michael Crichton in which scientists clone dinosaurs to populate a theme park, which suffers a major security breakdown and releases the dinosaurs. Won 3 Oscars, and a billion other awards. Within 8 years, two sequels were made: The Lost World: Jurassic Park, based on another Crichton book, and Jurassic Park III.

Director STEVEN SPIELBERG will begin filming the fourth installment of JURASSIC PARK next year (07).

The MUNICH director is currently getting ready to resurrect the INDIANA JONES franchise with HARRISON FORD later this year (06).

Producer FRANK MARSHALL confirms the script for the next version of the dinosaur epic has been finalised: "It has a good script now, so we should have that one up and running next year (07), for release in 2008."

The character of LEXIE, the granddaughter of SIR RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH's character, is expected to be the lead role in the new film, according to Moviehole.net.

I hope it's better than the last one. If I remember correctly, I remember reading something about Velociraptors with weapons attatched to their hands. I hope it doesn't turn into Turok or something. Man oh man I am such a huge fan of Jurassic Park. The movies fascinated me when I was younger. I had the books, toys, cups, etc... I probably watched Jurassic Park and The Lost World like 200 times so far.

That is one the most brilliant ideas I've heard in a while...Jurassic Park IV: Turok Raptor Hunter. :woot:

I would love to see someone use a fusion cannon. It would be great. Anyone got Spielbergs number? I think we can get it changed in time... :p

The first movie was brilliant and it went downhill from there.

First one was perfect, second was quite good, dark scary, but lacked decent characters. The third was just some pathetic joke that felt more like a documentary than a true Jurassic Park movie... so unless they can get a decent cast (with has to include Sam Neil), then it just won't be worth watching imo. If its in the day light like no 3... not a good movie!

Crichton's books never translate well to film, because there's too much thinking involved to make a decent movie. The only thing JP2 the book had in common with the movie was that there were dinosaurs and the main characters. The stories could not have been more different if they had used deleted scenes from Alice in Wonderland for the movie plot.

I absolutely loved these books (got hooked on Chricton when I read Eaters of the Dead [aka The 13th Warrior]) and the first book translated well to the screen, the second did a decent job, but that is one of the best sci-fi books I've ever read, and doing it perfectly would be nearly impossible. The third movie just flat out sucked though, there was hardly a touch of Crichton in it. These movies did well not because of the success of Speilberg, or the advanced CGI effects for the time, they did well because Michael Crichton knows how to write a believable (and unbelievable at the same time) and entertaining sci-fi novel that would make (almost) any other author look like a third grader trying to write a short story.

If Crichton writes a third novel and makes a movie, I'll watch it, but it's basically never going to happen.

I totally loved the first book, and the second, so I hired the DVD (wasn't into cinemas as a kid). Then I saw the second film and hated it, and the third.

Rumour is that the script for the 4th film is gonna be a return to the quality and excitement of the first.

My feeling of the 2nd and 3rd films failure is that they concentrated on "what amazing set pieces can this film contain", not a great story. Hell if the 2nd film had followed the 2nd book - it would have been awesome! But it really didn't, and basically just took a few cues from it.

Which is sad because the book was still good.

I guess if I'm honest with myself, I hated all three of the Jurassic Park films because they were nothing like the novels. Michael Crichton is a one of a kind writer, but the films made from his novels just suck!

My favorite novel from him is Prey and I've been hearing rumors of a film, and all I can think about is how bad the film will be. Just sad :(

I guess one problem with the novels, however, was how Michael brought Ian

back from the dead

. It just seems out of place to me. But I like the Ian character, so I guess it's ok. :p

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
