jokeripa
Every topic involving rap seems to get raped on Neowin, so I want to know, what is your general opinion on rap? ....give reasons! The Gunslinger
I believe rap music no longer delivers a message. And that is why these days it sucks asss. I loved rap music back in the day. Doggy Style is one of the best rap albums of all time. Not forgetting Biggie and Tupac...Run DMC, Dre. :dj: Rap music is too mainstream now. All you see in the videos are fake thugs singing about all the money they got, their bentleys etc, etc. btw Dead Prez - Hip Hop sums it up nicely. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/475568-opinions-on-rap-music/#findComment-587665847 Share on other sites

You have to check out a rapper called Plan B, he's really deep and uses an acoustic guitar for most of his songs. But these guys that are artistically good, dont really get any airplay. The networks and radio stations cater for the masses, not the guys with taste. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/475568-opinions-on-rap-music/#findComment-587665906 Share on other sites
brianhanson37
It seems like rap is going out of control. I must admit it has gotten better since last year but I still listen to it I just prefer Rock more. megamanXplosion
I agree to a certain extent. I do not care for any of the current rap music. Some of my favorites include: Eminem, Binary Star, Canibus, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Tonedeff, and so on. Angelic Marge
Todays rap is utter rubbish played by plastic gangsters wannabes I was around during the 80's rap/hip hop era and it was a good time to experience, this stuff today is just dreadful. Oh and I have never seen so many ugly people in one room as there are in these videos today especially that vid for Nasty Girl I think it was :x :pinch:  Edited July 3, 2006 by Evil Marge Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/475568-opinions-on-rap-music/#findComment-587666100 Share on other sites

lnmnky
I can't listen to rap. I like melody and a half decent vocal range. Give us a group of white lads playing generic indie guitar and I'm happy. :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/475568-opinions-on-rap-music/#findComment-587666290 Share on other sites

Some of my favorites include: Eminem, Binary Star, Canibus, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Tonedeff, and so on. damn, the mention of Tonedeff brings back memories. I battled against him on homegrownhiphopzone.com years back, and it was a tie, we re-matched two more times and it was always a tie (other members would hear each emcee's battle verse and vote). After that we started battling together against others in text on ICQ, in mplayer rooms setup for it in audio, ect. Man, those were the days. Great guy, very great guy. jokeripa
I never listen to it. Bob Dylan invented it. I've seen him live a few times when I was about 10, and I cannot see how the hell you got that assumption. And i hate it even more when people make more and more posts on "why you hate rap" i mean do people make polls or threads on "do you like metal" ?
