There is an easier way now. type about:config in the url/address bar.

Then right click/new/boolean a box will open asking for a name. copy and paste extensions.checkCompatibility click ok. then another box will pop up.. chose false. Now when you goto add-ons (either by installing an extension or by clicking tools/add-ons) you will see this.

In the red box you see compatibility checking is disabled. The red circle shows a red explanation point that indicates that extension's version is not compatible. It's good for when you run into problems you can disable the ones with the red explanation points first..starting with the last one you added. Hope this helps.

Edit: as KTamas said this isn't 100% guarantee that this will work with all extensions. Some tab extensions are not going to work for sure, because they have added new things to tabs that have broken a lot of tab extensions. For example undo close tab is now a built in feature.

What Stealth-X said will work, but I like the method I mentioned better because it doesn't modify the extension at all, it just forces Firefox to except it with whatever the version number is. And it gives you a visual cue of what extensions have been forced to work and that helps when a problem arises, where Stealth-X's method doesn't..or didn't use to.

Thanks for the heads-up! Until now I was too lazy to modify my extensions to get them work with Minefield, but now I'm back to the Alpha builds of FX :D

NP, glad I could help. I remember when I read about it in the builds Forums on Mozilla I was very happy to see it.
