Quellex
Just got my pair of HD485's last week, and while they are not as comfortable as my older Sony MDR-CD580 they make up for it in the sound quality being better. (They are still comfortable, mind you) Great headphones, highly recommended.

Smigit
What would people recommend if they had a choice, HD555 or HD595. I think I'm gona grab the 595's for xmas. Yeah the HD555's are cheaper but all the reviews from 595 owners seem to indicate they are worth the extra moolah. I dont really have anything else I want for xmas so the price difference probably isnt that big an issue anyway.
hifive
Those are nice. I have a pair of the classic Sony MDR-V6, probably my favorite cans ever. As for break-in, I also think it's a myth. The argument goes both ways, but I just never thought it'd help.
mail
Doesn't open air headphones also mean what your listening to also filters out ?
Smigit
yeah the sound "leaks" as some might say but that has its advantages too. The sound doesnt resonate in the ear pieces ect. They arent as good for public transport and perhaps lans but for home use they should be fine.
