Roaming Profile(s) won't upload to the server.

Hello there everyone,

I have a Windows 2003 workstation which won't upload the roaming profile (of any user account) back to the server. My server is Ubuntu 6.06 LTS which runs Samba and it functions as a Domain Controller for the computers in the house.

At first, i thought it was the Samba service crashing or something, but i checked the server and it was running fine. So i went to another computer in the house to try and see if it was my machine, and it is, the other computers save their profiles normally, including mine which i logged in with.

I've looked in the event log and it's saying nothing about uploading the profile to the server, there is no errors at all infact. I've checked the profile settings and they are saying its roaming, so i don't know what exactly has happened. This is a fresh install of Windows 2003 btw.

So i'm wondering if anyone know if there is a setting i've accidently changed which has done this?

Well this is what I know about roaming profiles using Windows Server 2003. If you want your Domain users to have roaming profiles. Then you will have to make a copy of ntuser which is a DAT file in the folder where your users are located on the local machine. Then you copy ntuser and add it to the user profile on the Windows Server 2003. If I confused you let me know.

Aye you have confused me now! :p

Windows Server 2003 is what i'm using a Workstation, the actual Domain is a Linux setup. The other computers in the house are Windows Server 2003 as well, set as a Workstation. And they work fine, even with my profile, it's just this Setup, i might just format if the problem persists.
