first of all, i don't know if the section is correct for this topic

so mods feel free to move the topic, thx

the problem is since today my Opera no longer works with Deviantart.com correctly

left side of the page is smashed, and i even cant click download link

but as for Internet Explorer all looks fine.

i wont change my browser, but thouse designers who code/develop that site are teh noobs imo

what do you think about that?

EDIT !!!

well mates, im not arguing or feel sick of it not working, i just wanted to say that such a huge/respectable/well-known site should check everything twice before making any changes

i dont understand such professionalism as testing the site while its working, i think there are many ways to check the intrface standalone before applying it, even if it needs php/sql/whaever

sure i know they ll check the things soon, even microsoft does so :p

it's just strange for me they do it like that, online, and i wanted to msg neowin about that and get some reaction

but stop blaming me cause i ve done so, i ve did it with more fun then angry

ez

(my later post in this topic, so please don't judge me)

/ EDIT !!!

DEVIANT art ignores Opera users?

Don't be such a drama queen dude. It hasn't been working for a day and you're already calling it "ignoring the opera community".

They are making some modifications and it appears to be messed up with the Opera browser. Give them a day or two and it will be back to normal.

Its been reasonably borked for about a week tbh :( tried to get on late last week to download a theme and couldn't get on with Opera. IE worked okay though, which is kinda sad. It would allow me to view pages, but got stuck on advertisements which didn't even appear when IE was used. it wouldn't let me continue to the actual download. I seem to remember the formatting was slightly screwy too.

Not to be rude, but the subject of your post is "DEVIANT art ignores Opera users?", and we all know a group of users make up a community. Regardless if it was a question or not, you were implying something. You would get offended if I ask, are you stupid? Your post subject carries the same amount of implication.

Yes, deviantart does not work with opera. No, they are not ignoring opera users, they probably just didn't notice. Even if they did, first you get compatible with the larger browsers, then aim for the smaller ones. It was JUST launched like, a day ago. Give them a break!

If anything, I'm sure you have another browser on your computer somewhere. And instead of crying about a problem next time, maybe you could download their css file, and add some opera-only css to fix the problems then send it back to them. People might even respect you for a deed like that.

Did you even file a bug report with deviantart? I'm not exactly sure what you were trying to accomplish with your post, but you should really have posted it on deviantart. It will do NOTHING here except start browser wars and flames just like every other post of this genre.

Hiya Suicide!

Apparently, dA was working on a bunch of bugs yesterday and I don't think they got them all squashed by midnight when they released v5 so there may be some major bugs like you say. I would send in a support ticket (if you can find where to do that) and explain the situation and hope they fix it. It was borked for a few minutes in Firefox too but it seemed to smooth out okay after a while. I found it's taking a lot of refreshes.

I like the new version though! Shame it's not all compatible yet :(

Suicide, the issue is posted on this Staffblog as a comment from one of the members.

They are working on all the issues and bugs right now, so it's not finished yet.

There's for you Opera users ;)

Neowin is not a support forum for affiliates or related sites.

Comparing, judging the content/value or raising the opinion of other sites, recruiting members or staff, bad mouthing (or victimizing) & negative discussion about non/affiliate site issues on our forums is neither wanted or tolerated.

rule 9 of neowin... they will tell u the same thing... cos that's what happened to me like in 2004! if u have a prob with DevART go to them about it not Neowin... It seemed to work fine for me in opera the other day or w/e. This is in the wrong section this should be posted here

One would also think a guy trying to make a point would check his own posts for things like typos.

I wouldn't be talking mate. If you don't know why the above statement is 'wrong' don't go judging other people's petty typos.

Bagging out other people's grammar/typos is probably the lamest thing you can do online. It's not like he's typing like some thirteen year old.

Ontopic: I'm sure DA will fix the issues soon, for now I'll just use ie7 beta :)

Sorry but I think you're a ****ing idiot. You posted this thread after only how many hours after dA v5 was launched?

You have no understanding how difficult it is to make a website like deviantART working in every ****ty little browser. And considering dA's size, testing something in development or something "finished" on a little staging cluster won't reflect how it will work live, and a rather small team of coders can't catch every single bug either.

dA is primarily optimized for Firefox and Internet Explorer, because that's what most people are using.

Anyways, they fixed it for Opera users by now, three days ago actually and they're fixing bug by bug, hour by hour.

You sir are the ****ing Idiot. Opera is the only 100% Standards compliant browser, and any site should be making their site standards compliant. That is alot less work than making their site work browser by browser, one by one.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
